This print is from a drawing done by a field artist, and soldier, during the Civil War (1861-1865). It is called 'The Grand Skedaddle of the Inhabitants from SC when Threatened by an Attack from the Federal Troops' and depicts thousands of black families fleeing with their personal belongings.
We reproduce the piece (computer-digitized) in sepia tone to bring out the rich details of the artists sketch. All work is done with archival, acid-free and museum-quality products (both ink and paper) in order to preserve the work for future generations. The print is 16 X 20 matted.
We hope this print brings you many hours of enjoyment and thank you for looking.
