This print is from a drawing done by a field artist, and soldier, during the Civil War (1861-1865). It is called 'The Siege of Petersburg-Bringing in Captured Guns Amid Cheers from the Ohio Troops' and depicts colored troops feverish anxiety after a gallant fight against Confederate troops.
We will reproduce the piece (computer-digitized) in sepia tone to bring out the rich details of the artists sketch. All work is done with archival, acid-free and museum-quality products (both ink and paper) in order to preserve the work for future generations. The print is 16X 20 matted.
We hope this print brings you many hours of enjoyment and thank you for looking.
Please look at my other Civil War artwork at /stores/rks. There are drawings of many aspects of the Civil War, (ships, Indians, railroads of that time period) so if there is something that you are interested in and don't see, contact me and I will look to see if I have it! |
