This print is from a drawing done by a field artist, and soldier, during the Civil War (1861-1865). It is called 'War on the Red River, Admiral Porter's Fleet Passing Through Colonel Bailey's Dam, Above Alexandria' and depicts a large crowd watching the ships trying to sail over dams built of rocks. A very unusual piece for the collector of Civil War and/or maritime art.
We will reproduce the piece, via computer digitizing, in sepia tone to bring out the rich details of the artists sketch. All work is done with archival, acid-free and museum-quality products, both ink and paper, in order to preserve the work for future generations. The print is 16 X 20 and is matted.
We hope this print brings you many hours of enjoyment and thank you for looking.
