This Frankoma Pottery boot vase was made after 1951 and fashioned after Mr. Frank's daughter Joniece's boots. It is done in the Prairie Green glaze and is made with the earlier Ada clay, I believe. It is not the later boot that had the Texas star fashioned into the top of the boot. There is no Frankoma stamp on the bottom.
I have not found a similar boot in my research in this Prairie Green color and without the star in the top. I have two of the small square ashtrays of the same type of color and clay that came with this boot, but both are in poor shape and I do not have them listed for sale. One has one chip out of it and on the bottom it is stamped Frankoma Pottery Sapulpa Okla. The other has one side broken out with a small chip out of the other side and it is stamped on the bottom Frankoma 469. I am using these as reference only, but they could be purchased with the boot, if desired.
The price given is for the boot vase only. All 3 are from the same New Mexico estate. |
