pty-1210

Davy Crockett Mug Brush McCoy. Unmarked, but in several books. c 1956. Davy looks like a little boy here, with a cute smile and big eyes, a hint of blush on his cheeks and a little lock of yellow hair showing below his cap. Nice dark glaze on his buckskin clothes. 5" tall and 4.5" wide, including the handle, which is his hand holding a gun with the name "Davy Crockett" on the gun stock. In very good condition. There is what I believe to be a firing flaw on the rim - I do not think it is a crack, I believe it was done at the time it was made. See pictures. On his back at the bottom are three small areas where the glaze was rubbed off before firing. These are not chips as they feel very smooth. And a line that I do not believe is a crack as it is filled in with glaze, so again was created at the time of production. See pictures.
I have tried to document everything - if you need more pictures, I'll be happy to supply. He is in good condition, with good color. Some of these can look very washed out, but this one does not. There is crazing, which I think adds character and confirms age to any piece. I pay insurance for my customers and prefer to use PayPal.
