Willets Belleek of Trenton, New Jersey produced and hand painted exceptional porcelain wares in the late 19th Century. This delightfully vivid colored mug is a superb example.
On a multi-colored earthy ground, clusters of vivid purple, medium and pale green and rusty-red lush grape clusters and foliate are artistically rendered. The entire piece is a painted canvas.
Measures 4.25 inches high with a 3 inch diameter drinking well. Handle extends an additional 1.25 inches. Interior is a glazed cream with a deeply burnished gold detail on top and outer border of the rim.
Marked with the Willets Belleek inkstamp mark used between 1888 - 1898. Near perfect condition with only minor rubbing to the under-base.
