010920

Steinmann R.S.Silesia Cabbage Mold Roses Bowl Antique K Steinmann, R.S Prussia Related blown out cabbage mold console bowl with sculpted rib and crimp gilt rim. Studio painted decoration of lush roses on an airbrushed green hued, creamy white ground. Porzellanfabrik und -malerei Kuno Steinmann was located in Silesia, Germany and not only produced, but was also a decorating studio. It is unsure if this cabbage mold is one of theirs or one acquired from the Schlegelmilch factories and decorated by one of their studio artists, however, we are leaning more towards an R.S. mold based on its manufacturing characteristics.

Steinmann was a respected manufacturer of fine porcelain from its inception in Tiefenfurth, Silesia 1868 to its closing in 1938 and this decorative bowl, measuring 10 inches in diameter with a height of 2.75 inches, is sure not to disappoint. Based on the mark we narrow production between 1898 - 1915. Overall condition is rated to be in near excellent, well cared for condition.

010921

Unmarked R.S.Germany 'HW' Blackberry Blossom Display Plate Unmarked R.S. Germany (possibly Limoges) ornately scalloped and scrolled embossed relief porcelain satin finish cake plate with a suberbly executed handpainted design of plump and juicy, ready for picking blackberries, blossoms and greenery on an airbrushed ground of lilac, deep lavendar, dusty sky blue, a hint of green and buttercream hues. The entire embossed relief is accented and detailed in lush burnished gold. Artist 'HW' with painted initials incorporated into the scene.

This wonderfully decorated plate measures 8.5 inches in diameter and is just as wonderful in condition and artistry. We estimate manufacture and decoration, circa 1900 - 1915. Possibly an early Haviland mold.

Three factory holes for hanging cord on unmarked back. Excellent condition
