1909 AG Voss C. Stoitzner Framed Cherry Blossoms Print
Antique A.G. Voss Copyright 1909 print of Constantin Stoitzner painting (ca 1900)of a romantic pseudo-18th century style courting scene in a lush garden area. We believe the title to be 'Cherry Blossoms'. Print is mounted in original Mahogany frame with an ebonized Gesso carved ornate scroll motif typical of the period.
Framed, the print measures 23 by 19 inches, print itself measures 20 by 16 inches. Original academy board backing. Appears original glass has been replaced. Lower right signed C. Stoitzner, lower left has Copyrighted 1909 by A.G. Voss, American Colortype Co. CHI & N Y.
Condition is rated as Very Good with the following noted. Minor loss of frame motif at upper and lower corners on left side; Small section of motif loss on lower right side. Small tear on print at upper right side near frame probably caused when glass was replaced. Foxing on backing board.
Stoitzner, Austria, 1863 - 1934, is known for his very precise mountain landscapes and the architecture of the surrounding villages. He would later use his talents as a figure painter and detailed miniature portraits. He is able to capture minute detail in each painting microscopically down to a single hair which attests to this print's extremely tactile and dimensional effect.

Sepia Joseph With Infant Jesus Ornate Gilt Hand Carved Frame
Antique Sepia scene of Joseph holding the Christ child in which the artist depicts the infant Jesus in a surreal spiritual and heavenly semi-transparency. Joseph's adoration and love is artistically depicted.
Print is mounted on a uniquely shaped and intricately carved and gilt piece of solid Mahogany. Crafting has a one-of-a kind appearance and expert execution with the charm of old world Europe. We believe the print itself is Italian. Frame with a motif of primitive floral garland follows the flow of the domed shape top. Green leaf vines flow downward on both sides of the middle border. Middle border is stippled and textured. Sepia is framed with a dentil motif and outer frame motif of spaced V carvings. The entire surface is a separate layer of gesso applied to the wood sepia mounting. Floral garland has a wash of color as do the trailing leaves. Heavy gold paint covers the entire front of the mounting. Back is stained.
Measures 20.5 inches long with a 12.5 inch width. Rated to be in near Fine condition with two specs of color loss on the print itself and relative to age. We estimate, based on subject and style, circa late 19th Century. Unknown artist and craftsman.
