Nippon Fantasy Reproduction Berries and Cream Set
Reproduction of a Nippon berries and cream set. Although definitely a fake Nippon mark and obviously of contemporary production, this Nippon reproduction fantasy set would make a nice inexpensive porcelain alternative to the 'real thing'. Service consists of a one piece partitioned bowl, cream jug and covered sugar. Bowl has two deep wells to hold the creamer and sugar and the larger embossed fan shaped shell for the berries.
Transfer painted print of a lush garland of cherry blossoms and greenery. Bowl with embossed and pierced tab handle, sugar lid and creamer are all nicely detailed with a brilliant gold paint. Overall embossing detail. Condition is about as good as it gets and appears to have never been used or was for display use only.
