Emerald Green Blown & Mary Gregory Style Painted Bell
Male subject, facing right, painted in the style of what is generally referred to as Mary Gregory, on an emerald green blown glass bell. Scene is of a male subject dressed in knickers, stockings and half boots reminiscent of Swiss or German countryside attire, carrying a spring bouquet of flowers. Lush blooming trees border on each side with hills and meadow being the background.
Bell measures 6 inches high with an applied heavy blank blown handle. Circumference of bell is 3 inches with a beveled edge rim. Rated as being in very good condition and part of a well-cared for Estate bell collection. Artist numbered 84. in script, differs from the personalization 'Christmas 1975' painted by the gift-giver to the bell collector. Accordingly, we have reduced the price. The accompanying female subject is listed separately.
