chintz patterns

Chintz ceramics had its origins in the English city of Stoke-on-Trent with the earliest documented chintz using the paper tissue copper engraved method was the mid-1800's. The various over-all chintz patterns, cheery and lush in color, instantly began a hit and is still to this day avidly collected.

0607-70 		James Kent LTD Marigold Chintz Sweet Dish Marigold chintz sweet dish produced by James Kent Ltd England. Dish is a 5 inch by 5 inch square and a handkerchief crimp mold design. Burnished gilding accents the tight scallop rim.

It's condition is rated as near excellent with a fine overall crazing present on the deep ivory dish bottom. Inkstamp marked, minus the crown, used between 1920 - 1930. James Kent Ltd. was in operation beginning in 1897 and up to 1986.
