Rare Book Identify Bennington Pottery / Stoneware Profusely illustrated in black-and-white, this rare out-of-print book is a definitive guide on

HOW TO IDENTIFY BENNINGTON POTTERY by Richard Carter Barret, The Stephen Greene Press, VT, 1964.

According to the author's introduction, 'The purpose of this guide is to tell and to show which pieces of pottery or porcelain were made at Bennington and which were not. The combined production of the potteries at Bennington puts their ceramic output in a comparison class with the glass items produced at Sandwich, Mass. In their respective days, each factory's production was among the largest in the United States. I have based the text and selected the illustrations on the hundreds of letters I receive annually and the thousands of questions I am asked at Bennington Museum in the course of my work. I hope this guide proves to be a help to you in your search for the ceramic wares made at Bennington.' Authoritative and informative, this is an essential volume for anyone who collects, appraises, buys, sells or trades Bennington pottery. BENNINGTON POTTERY AND PORCELAIN by Richard Carter Barret, Bonanza Books, 1958 First Edition.
