Condition: Used Manufacturer: Unmarked
What a great old cookie and biscuit cutter! Made of old flat sheet iron or tin with a backing and a large arched handle. The design is soldered onto the back and there is an air or push hole, indicating an early age. It is in good condition with light signs of wear on the surface, easily restored with fine steel wool if that is your desire. Measures 3" in diameter. A great find for your cookie cutter collection!
If you are new to cookie cutters as a collectible, you might be interested to know that this is likely one of the Pennsylvania Dutch handcrafted cutters that was made by the Moravian community in PA. Bethlehem is the hometown of the founders of the Moravian community, where they have just restored the metalsmith shop within this past year, and where they give fascinating demonstrations of the craft every year at community events. We have several of these antique cookie cutters in a variety of sizes and shapes, so please check our other listings. |
