Exceptional Franklin Mint solid fine sterling silver Ingot set commemorating the 200th anniversary of the American Revolution, commissioned by the Bicentennial Council of the Thirteen Original States in 1974.
This is a complete set of 70 ingots, each measuring 2.375" x 1.5". Each ingot depicts events that occurred during the American Revolution and each ingot was issued on the 200th aniversary of those events. The ingots are accompanied by envelopes that are postmarked from the 13 original states, as well as from cities in England, France and Canada. U.S. and correlating stamps complete the presentation.
There are five ingots per page, all encased with their stamped envelopes in heavy protective plastic. The pages are bound in a stately blue album that is embossed on the front and side. Original paperwork is included, as is a 1974 press release announcing the series.
The entire set, which originally sold for $1365, weighs 134.2 oz. This same set is currently selling on the Franklin Mint website for $6078.
Payment for this fine set must be made in the form of a bank teller's check only. U.S. sales only.
