Made by the Regal China Co of Antioch Il. Designed by Ruth Van Tellingen Bendel circa 1947. The earliest sets were impressed "Patent Pending". All sets after July 17, 1951 are marked with the patent number so this little set is pre 1951.

Mrs Bendel designed them in the hugging position so they can both be picked up at the same time with one hand and the salt & pepper dispensed without fear of dropping them. They are so appealing and come in lots of different designs & colors. Bear Hug & Love Bug & lots more so you can collect them all. This little set of a boy & his puppy is just darling and quite HTF. They came in Black Gray or Brown. They obviously love each other a lot! Look at those little faces. Excellent condition with only the normal factory flaws. Apprx 3.5 inches tall. Under the tail on the puppy it says "© VANTELLINGEN. On the bottom it says Pat Pend. Below the pajama flap on the boy it says "PAT PEND" & on the bottom "VANTELLINGEN ©" Puppy has his stopper.
