Manufacturer: Van Tellingen
Made by the Regal China Co of Antioch IL. Designed by Ruth Van Tellingen Bendel circa 1947. The earliest sets were impressed "Patent Pending". All sets after July 17, 1951 are marked with the patent number so this little set is pre 1951. Mrs Bendel designed them in the hugging position so they can both be picked up at the same time with one hand and the salt & pepper dispensed without fear of dropping them. They are so appealing and come in lots of different designs & colors. Bear Hug & Bunny Hug & Love Bug & lots more so you can collect them all. *This little set of "Yellow Bears" with rose colored spots and black tails is harder to find than the brown bears. Excellent condition with no chips cracks crazing or repairs (only the normal factory flaws). Colors are still bright and beautiful much better than pictures can show. Apprx 3.5 inches tall. Under the tail it says "Van Tellingen" and on the bottom it says "Pat Pend" but it is very hard to see. Both have their stoppers. Please see all pictures and check out my other goodies.
