***** OCTOBER 1954 *****
Roses are red - She likes them in bunches; little she knows That you do without lunches.

ERNEST CHIRIAKA was hired to do artwork for ESQUIRE, to due an entire 12 page calendar for the magazine from 1953 - 1957, a great responsibility since the calendar had continued to be the largest-selling and most popular in the world. He first created pin-ups for Esquire in 1952. He produced works that showed distinctive skin tones on his pin-ups.
Beautifully done lithograph print. Alluring Art Deco Glamour girl portrayl of Pin-Up that was so popular in the early part of the century. Measures 11" W x 8-1/2" H. (Sorry for any glare from camera.) Fabulous piece of Art Deco Art. Please make sure to view our other beauties we have listed from this unique series.

0560311
Vntg '20s Print - Firey Birch Leaves at Sunset We have just obtained a large group of PAPER EPHEMERA, dating from the early 1900's - maybe 1940's - 1950's. They were stored away from light so their condition is great. (Note: these are VINTAGE/USED stock, so you are buying AS - IS.) Some were made into scrapbooks, so condition will be listed. Some will be pages glued, so they will either have some glue residue, or left alone and will show some other item on the back. We found a gold mine here! Most are original calendar top prints, lots are signed, then various lithograph prints, greeting cards and fabulous postcards. Various artists: Phillip R. Goodwin, J.Knowles Hare, Jessie Wilcox Smith, Hintermeister, L. Goddard, Zula Kenyon, Jules Erbit, Irene Patten, Peter Driben, Rolf Armstrong, R. Atkinson Fox, Norman Rockwell, Adelaide Hiebel, Haskell Coffin, Barclay....to name a few. Pin-Up Glamour Girls, Indian Maiden's, Children prints, Landscapes, Animals, etc. So please keep checking back at our site, for we will be listing them as quickly as we can.
******* Beautiful serene landscape picture with an ocean view. Wonderful detailing. Is not titled or signed. Not certain whom the artist is. Enormous grouping of white birch trees, their leaves appear * FIREY RED & ORANGE *, appears by the sunset in the distance. Great VIVID coloring as shown. Believe this came from a calendar top. Was made on a sturdy thicker paper stock. GREAT condition, the only flaw we see is slightly by the lower right edge, some print was "surface scuffed". The rest is fine. Measures 8-1/2" W x 11-1/2" H. (Sorry for slight glare from camera, image is solid in coloring.) Great condition as shown, was glued in scrapbook, so has some glue remnants on the back. Overall, this litho would look stunning framed.
Shipping in the U.S. will be 7.50. Insurance-EXTRA. Thanks for visiting DOGWOOD TRAIL ANTIQUES.

******* This is from the other scrapbook containing the noted magazine covers/advertising. Note this lovely beauty!! A pretty Art Deco style Flapper Girl, with matching hat, fur coat, holding on to her cute little puppie. Measures 8-1/2" W x 11" H. Possibly could be a Harrison Fisher illustration, or maybe a Haskell Coffin, (?). The signature on the lower right is partly missing. Underneath, the owner pasted two cute little die-cuts doggies.... Entire page, excellent condition. Absolutely, great VIVID coloring as shown. On the other side, is a picture of a Norman Rockwell type style picture, Peter, Peter, Pumpkin eater??... A man in running position carrying a pie, a dog bite his back pants. (Sorry if any glaze appears from our camera, image is solid in coloring.) Page would look stunning framed.
