Titled: FROM THE CRIB TO THE CROSS, THE STORY OF JESUS. FOR LITTLE CHILDREN IN WORDS OF ONE SYLLABLE by MRS. EDWARD ASHLEY WALKER. Illustrated Revised Edition. I would date this approximately 1920's-1930's, the preface with the copyrighted date is missing. Rest of the book is in great condition. No tears, stains, a little "dirty" fingerprints on edges of some pages. The lettering is a larger print. LOTS of beautiful colored illustrations throughout the book. Colored prints are blank on the back, so they would frame nicely. Total of 318 pages. Example exert from the beginning of the book written in simple wording: Once there was a young girl whose name was Mary. Her home was in a small town on the white hills of Galilee. Mary was poor, and not much known in the world, but God knew her, and chose her out of all that world to give birth to His Son. One day Gabriel flew down from God to Nazareth, where her home was, to bring Mary this good news. He told her, too, just when the child would be born, and what name she must give him. Mary's heart must have been full of strange thoughts, but all she said was, "I am the Lord's maid; let it be with me as He shall please." Very easy to understand.
