c1936-ALAN HUGHES- Boy, Orange Jack-O-Lantern, Dog
******* We have obtained some lovely vintage scrapbooks, and found some loose pictures placed in the back - stored away to be placed in book someday. Even though this particular picture is a page from a magazine - we thought that with it's uniqueness that it would add to someone's collection. Especially if you collect items of all kinds related to the HALLOWEEN theme.
This is a great picture of a costumed boy, mask on top of his head, trying to light up his large carved out orange pumpkin. He is adding a corded lightbulb. Pumpkin is all a glow, and has scared away his little dog. Great use of colors, looks kind of spooky. Is signed by the artist: ALAN HUGHES - 36. The back has some advertisement for Spiegel wool blankets. A clean tear on right side on the porch rail. Might of possibly been glued at one time, on the top & the bottom, paper is kind-of wavy. Measures 7" W x 9" H. (Sorry for slight glare from camera, image is solid in coloring.) Really a striking picture for Halloween, a wood frame would really enhance it.

VERY OLD HALLOWEEN PAPER CANDY SACK BAG-COWBOY
Here is a SUPER NICE OLD PAPER ITEM that I am selling on consignment from an estate. SUPER NICE HALLOWEEN PAPER COLLECTIBLE. Believe this is a RARE - HARD-TO-OBTAIN ITEM since this is a vintage PAPER CANDY SACK that children used to gather their candy goodies.
Nice graphics, TWICK 'R TWEAT. On the far right has an area where the child would fill out his name, etc. This GREAT FIND WAS NOT WRITTEN ON!!! YOUR GAIN!!! <My Name is><I Live at> <Phone No.><I am dressed like a>. Graphics show coloring of the classic (red)orange, black and gold. Shows a cute little boy ~ all dressed up as a COWBOY, costume like they wore like Hop-A-Long Cassidy. Overbrimmed has, red kerchief tied around his neck, vest, red shirt, large black boots, metal spurs, and of course, his big gun attached to his belt buckle...Little boy holding the trick or treat paper sack at a house collecting candy.
There is an old store sticker in the upper left corner indicating price of .20 cents. Really in GREAT CONDITION for its age. Some age yellowing from storage in an old drawer. Handles intact. At the top are two tiny tears and another on the other side. These are shown in the photos. BUYING AS IS. Not quite perfect, but certainly NEAR PERFECT AND IN REMARKABLE CONDITION FOR THIS PAPER ITEM THAT NORMALLY WOULD OF BEEN THROWN OUT.
Measures 12 inches wide by 13 inches high, then another 5 inches high when counting the handles. About 4-3/4 inches deep.
