Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky was born in Kamsko-Votinsk on May 7, 1840 and died in St. Petersburg on November 6, 1893. Sensitive, moddy, and give to despair, he has remained for us the typical artist of the late romantic period. He never permitted any difficulties of temperament to interfere with his work. He was a careful craftsman, capable of tireless effort. His orchestration is brilliant, his structure sound. He is a master of suspense and excitement, no less than of sentiment: and his brilliant orchestral climaxes have a surge and power which are irresistible.

Condition: Cover binding pretty good condition. Just some scuffing of face. Great frameable picture. All (3) albums - 10". All seem GREAT, minor scuffing, no major scratching. Unfortunately, ONE record has a BITE IN RECORD. 3/8"D, 3-1/8"L, ON PART 1 and PART VI RECORD. Still can be played past that point.

Ludwig Van Beethoven was born at Bonn, December 16, 1770 and died in Vienna, March 26, 1827. He was the first musician who forced Viennese aristocrats to accept him as an equal. In the realm of music, he inherited the great classical forms from Mozart and Haydn. But he poured into them the passion, and the rapt personal speech which became the hallmark of nineteenth-century Romanticism. In his personal life he faced as severe a tragedy as can befall a musician-the loss of hearing. The experience brought on one of those deep inner crises which either break a man or leave him forever the stronger. Beethoven fought the chaos within himself as he did all other obstacles in his path-and came out the victor.
