Lovely old vintage china piece here. Is a CHINA/PORCELAIN CLOCK - OXFORD Self Starting, made by the GIBRALTAR MFG. CO., INC. JERSEY CITY, NJ.
Beautifully handpainted with lovely raspberry colored roses on each side. Has raspberry coloring as accents, highlighted by touches of 22 karat GOLD.
Believe this piece dates to the 1930's, could even have been from the 1920's. Still has the original foil label on the back: HAND DECORATED * ROYAL OXFORD CHINA * 22 K GOLD. Then marked at the base 724.
In VERY GOOD CONDITION for its age. Face paper has slightly yellowed. Is showing crazing through the piece, and at 11:00 o'clock is a very tight hairline crack that goes to the top of the raspberry color. Otherwise, no chips or breaks.
Measures 6-1/2 inches high, 6 inches wide, approx. 2-3/8 inches deep. Is 110V. A.C. 60 C. 2 W. MADE IN U.S.A. The clock does run and keeps good time.
