Here is a Lovely Victorian Era Antique Chromolithograph Print that truly portraits the Victorian life-style. Such stunningly VIVID, VIBRANT, colors used in this print.
Is TITLED: GUARDING. There is no artist signature. Looks to be the works of the famous ARTHUR JOHN ELSLEY (1860-1952) ?? R. ATKINSON FOX ?? Or maybe someone will recognize the artist to this fantastic print.
Has lots of detailing in this picture. Is a large ST. BERNARD dog, on guard, of the lovely sleepy little curly haired girl. Pretty white dress with pink satin waistband, sunbonnet laying beside her. She had grown tired of playing in the sandy beach.

She just finished making a little house and placed a tiny flag on top. Sailboats in the distance, as the clouds in the sky seem to be getting darker. The artist has done a wonderful job with this portrayl.
CONDITION: It appears that the print was stored away, rolled up at some time in its lifetime, for you can see the bends/creases in some areas of print. Then someone tried to flatten it out by laying it out and placing it in a scrapbook. Measures a LARGE 10-1/2 W x 12 H. By framing this in a glass frame it will not be so prominent. Will just have character to the piece. An antique that was loved.
PRICED ACCORDINGLY. THERE WILL BE NO RETURNS ON THIS ITEM. It does have some flaws, as we pointed out. The rareness of this highly sought after print is well worth collecting, until you find a less flawed one. Still displays beautifully!!
The right antique wood frame and matting would certainly bring out this fantastic beauty.
