We have obtained a wonderful antique that was stored in an old Victorian's home attic. For it's age, it is a true beauty. Great collectors of Victorian items will realize it's potential. It could be framed to it's original grandeur to enjoy it for another hundred years. Here is a Lovely Victorian Era Antique Chromolithograph print that truly portrays the Victorian life-style. Such stunningly VIVID, VIBRANT, colors used in this print. Is TITLED: GUARDING. There is no artist signature. Looks to be the works of the famous ARTHUR JOHN ELSLEY (1860-1952) ?? Or maybe someone will recognize the artist to this fantastic print. Has lots of detailing in this picture. Is a grand ST. BERNARD dog, on guard, of the lovely sleepy little curly haired girl. Pretty white dress with pink satin waistband, sunbonnet laying beside her. She had grown tired of playing in the sandy beach. She just finished making a little house and placed a tiny flag on top. Sailboats in the distance, as the clouds in the sky seem to be getting darker. The artist has done a wonderful job with this portrayl.
For some reason it appears that the print was stored away, rolled up, for you can see the bends/creases in some areas of print. Then someone tried to flatten it out by placing it in a scrapbook. By framing this in a glassed frame it will not be so prominent. Will just have character to the piece. Priced accordingly. An antique that was loved. Measures a LARGE 10-1/2" W x 12" H.
The right antique wood frame and matting would certainly bring out this fantastic beauty.
Shipping/Handling in the U.S. will be $7.00,Insurance Extra. (Always happy to combine items for shipping savings!). Good luck. ~~ LOW RESERVE ~~ FOR THIS BEAUTY.
This wonderful ANTIQUE is worth collecting, we hope you think so too. Thanks for visiting DOGWOOD TRAIL ANTIQUES.
