A FLOWING RIVER IN THE FOREGROUND THAT HAS A BRIDGE GOING OVER IT. LOTS OF TALL BARE TREES DOTTING THE LANDSCAPE. SO PRETTY IT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE A QUALITY PAINTING.
NOT CERTAIN WHOM THE ARTIST IS. NOT SIGNED. (IS IS POSSIBLY: CHANDLER ??) AT THE BOTTOM IT IS MARKED: 1486. PUBLISHED COPYRIGHTED 1909 BY HALLEN & WEINER, NEW YORK.
THIS BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE PASTEL (?), CHROMOLITHOGRAPH PRINT IS HOUSED IN IT'S BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL ANTIQUE HEAVY QUARTERSAWN DARK BROWNISH WALNUT, WE BELIEVE. HAS 4 LAYERS OF DETAILING WITH THE WOOD AND HIGHLY APPLIED GESSO INBETWEEN. ORIGINAL OLD WAVY GLASS. WE CLEANED UP THE GLASS FOR YOU, REPLACED THE OLD CARDBOARD BACKER, WIRING READY FOR YOU TO HANG UP ON YOUR WALLS TO ENJOY.
GREAT LARGE SOFA SIZE PRINT. FRAME MEASURES 29-3/4 INCHES WIDE BY 25-1/2 INCHES HIGH, APPROX. 2 INCHES DEEP. OUTER GOLD GESSO SHOWS SOME CRAZING OR CRACKING. UNLESS I MISSED SOME, IT APPEARS THAT ALL THE GESSO IS PRETTY WELL INTACT. DETAILING OF THE GESSO IS RAISED UP TO 1 INCH HIGH, SO THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL FRAME. NICE OUTER BORDER WITH CUT OUT DECORATIVE OVALS ADDS AN ELEGANCE TO THE FRAME. PLEASE VIEW PICTURES FOR CONDITION. BACK PRINT MEASUREMENT 20 INCHES WIDE BY 16-1/2 INCHES HIGH.
PRINT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. WAS TAPED ON THE BACK IN TWO AREAS WHERE THERE WERE CLEAN TEARS, BUT PICTURE IS DARK SO HARD TO NOTICE THEM. ONE IN THE BRANCHES IN THE TREES ON THE RIGHT AND IN THE LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER.
