The book itself is a kahki tan color with a black spine that continues to the front and back of the book. The title of the book is on the spine in gold. The book was originally a library book and still has the pocket in the back with the card. The cover of this book is worn with scratches and particularly the edges. There is a child's name and a "C" on the inside front page. There is also a note on the opposite side of the first page that is dated 1949. There are several pages that have a few tears. (I have non-acidic tape and would be willing to do the repairs on the tears, if requested). The inside of the back cover had something glued into it and it has left a small amount of brown paper. This is a very beautifully illustrated book with brilliant colors and a great educational book for young children! From the research that I have done this is quite a RARE book!
