Unique Wooden Macanudo Cigar Box w/Orvis Flyfisher Lure This cigar box (empty) has been stored for some time. It is a little more than the average cigar box. It is made of wood,hinged in the back, is printed on the top - not labeled, has a snap front and has the Macanudo paper tape on all edges of the box.
The special part comes when you notice on the front of the box in the upper left hand corner that it has been printed with "A Sporting Tradition" Since 1856 ORVIS and on the right upper corner in larger letter "Flyfisher".
When the box clasp is unsnapped and the lid is raised you see the same imprint as on the top of the box. In addition in the middle at the top it says Orvis Flyfisher and a recessed oval area cut into the lid. In this recessed area is the Orvis Flyfisher Lure with it's wonderful multi colored feathers which has been wired onto the hook with the looks of fine jewelry.
I have not been able to find anything about this box and I have searched but it is unique.
The wooden divider bar, the printed thin paper and the very thin sheet of wood which has a yellow ribbon tied through 3 holes, an extra ribbon are all included in the box.
