Sewing Susan & Army & Navy Needle Books
The Sewing Susan book is complete and in very good to excellent condition. It measures 5 7/8" wide and is 3 1/2" high. I believe this dates from the early '50's judging from the ladies dress and hair styles.
The Army & Navy Needle book is probably older. It measures 4 5/8" wide and is 2 5/8" high. The backside of the holder has a corner crease in the bottom left hand corner. The interior shows a corner crease in the black paper holding the large needles. There are three missing large needles under this flap and there are six large needles remaining. The other sizes under the white flaps all contain needles but I'm not sure how many they are supposed to contain. The exterior of this book has puncture marks located just under the airplane where someone has put a needle for holding. It is hard to see with the naked eye. This book was made in Japan.
