Sm. Red Cased Sewing Kit-Vintage I'm not sure of the age of this kit but I believe it is from the '50's or before. The case measures 5 1/4" wide by 3 1/4 " high. The exterior appears to be leather but may be something else. The sides and bottom are metal strips. The interior is cloth covered. There are some creases where the case opens and what appears to be water stains on the interior flap.
The threads are on metal spindals. These threads have a satin like quality. A few of the round threads may have been slightly used but the others have not. I'm not completely sure if the threads are original to the box but they appear to be. The round threads are marked Belding Hemingway, USA or 10 yds. The others are marked the same.
The hook and 'needle' object are bakelite with red painted ends. Some of this paint has come off the tip of the smaller item. The scissors are gold handled with intricate detailing and are marked USA. The thimble has an impressed #8.
All in all, this is an attractive kit which displays nicely.
