Manufacturer: Carrickmacross
This is a magnificant piece of machine made net lace decorated with muslin appliques that are applied with a tambour hook using the classic chain stitch or Tambour technique. There are open areas with lovely needle worked brides and a design that flows around the entire permiter with the exception of one end.

It appears that this end was already extracted to beautify another creation. The overall size of the veil is 29" x 81". A 3" design of daisies and fronds covers the long side that meaners and melts into a magnificant depth of 14" on the corner. The other long side features 1/2" appliques along the entire length. Soft white, excellent condition. Offered as found. I can see those creative minds working already! c. 1850
