Wow! They did a lot better than coursage pins in the olden days. This elegant pin, marked 950 sterling (English?), is curved out to accomodate stems, has pokers to hold them and a latch to close over them. Then the bouquet is pinned to the dress or jacket. It makes an unusual pin all by itself too. I couldn't have guessed what it was if I hadn't found bow shaped pins (see # 6012) in a Victorian jewelry book. |
