I can just see an Engish marm at my University of Minnesota peering down her nose at her Engish Literature class through these binocular tortoise shell glasses. The hairpin on a chain assures that they don't fall off her face. (I once had a pair like this with a chain and pin on EACH side - a very insecure lady). Metal appears to be goldfilled, fine chain is 9 1/2 inches long.
