Rare Old Red LacquerWare Box lacquer ware Rare Antique Cinnebar Red Lacquerware Box.
Lacquer over wood 8-1/2" dia. x 4-3/4" high. Intricate design of vines and flowers with angular design in middle. Rippled circular shape. Inside is shiny black lacquer and rounded bottom is matte black. Very nice condition, it does have a couple of rim chips and a couple of worn spots on the bottom. Still a vey nice cabinet display piece.

Stamp incised Nippon underneath, probably pre- 1921. Red and Yellow fruits with green leaves on brown branch. Black rim. Unusual shape is squarish. Background is grey with very fine--probably intentional-- crazing. Crazing is considered desirable in Orient pottery. Some glazes are designed to craze.

Nippon Round Vanity Tray Violets Vintage Antique 10" Nippon Porcelain Tray could be a dresser tray or a tray for a teapot set. Flat with very shallow rim all around.
