I have hundreds of planes. I take them completely apart, clean all rust and coat them with a sealer that stops rust and keeps rust from coming back. I repaint when needed, repair or replace handles. These planes are attractive, usable, yet are collectables and many are antique. These are much better in quality and workmanship and than you can buy new today. I will be as accurate as possible in my description. I use as reference "Transitional & Metallic Planes in America" By Roger Smith, "The Stanley Plane" by Alvin Sellens, "Stanley Tools" by John Walters.
