I have a funny story about this piece. My husband does the photography for me and when I put this in the pile he said, "This is no good the metal has seperated at the seam". So I put the hankie in it and he's still sceptical! Actually I did assume that's what its used for but I feel fairly certain. It is an embossed goldtone metal pin with floral design. Suspended from the pin are stylized leaves and violets that are open at the bottom to hold your handkerchief!(Perhaps a collar or scarf.) It measures 2 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. There are no markings. It is in very good vintage condition and the only one I've ever seen! Very Victorian! Sorry the violet handkerchief is one of my favorites and not for sale! |
