Click for more detail...
Ultra Long C1918 Late Edwardian Lapis Glass & Brass Link Pendant Necklace Just before skirts became as short as the bobbed hairstyles, women of style were wearing ankle-length gowns with correspondingly long chains of fine links and pendants in the lacy Edwardian style. This necklace dates to that period, about 1915, and is made of faux lapis glass and gilt brass with a desirable antiqued finish. The circular pendant, a sizable 2 ¼" in diameter, is a pierced medallion centered by a 1" lapis glass cabochon. The filigree designs have wire-twist patterned edges. The glass has mottled shades of blue and inclusions of goldstone to mimic the pyrite found in natural lapis. The long links of the chain are interspersed every 1 1/4'" with a polished lapis glass bead and form a chain length of 36 ½". The chain is clasp-less as it could easily slip over the even the most highly piled and pinned updo of the time. The necklace is in great condition with no damage.

Stylish enough on its own, but if you favor layering, this luxurious length gives you plenty of options to pile on chokers or other pendants and long beaded strands. In the day, "more was better" so play up the panache possibilities!

Click for more detail...
Fancy European Edwardian Brass Bar Pin with Faux Pink Glass Gems This circa 1910 European brass bar pin is not for the shy – it measures 3 ¾" across. The ornately stamped and scrolled bar has acanthus leaf scrolls hugging the central jewel which is a faux-veined pink glass cabochon. The smaller half-sphere gems on each side are mottled to resemble the same enigmatic stone; one is lighter than the other, just as they might be found in nature. The pin shaft secures with a trombone clasp (a European favorite, invented about 1850.) The pin is in excellent condition with the preferred patina that compliments the age and design

Click for more detail...
Grand Signed Victorian Two-Tone Sash Pin with Amethyst Crystal Jewel This gorgeous, lushly ornamented Victorian era sash pin is made of two tones of bloomed brass and is set with a facetted amethyst color crystal jewel. The curvy brooch is 3 3/4" wide and 1 7/8" high. The beaded pierced design around the center is a rich yellow tone while the applied, tropical spade-shaped leaves have a greenish hue—very much a nod to the Victorian’s love of exotic plants. The center amethyst glass jewel is 11/16" high and bezel-set; it has a very tiny flake at the edge of the table, not really visible without magnification. The wide C-clasp back that holds the pin shaft is stamped "G.C.H.," the signature of G.C. Hudson & Company of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. This circa 1890 sash pin has more than its share of detail and would make a stunning finish to a blazer, coat, or thick scarf.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Chinese_Gemstone_Dress_Clip_Pin: Colorful C1920 Chinese Semi-Precious Gemstone Grape Cluster Dress Clip
Click for more detail...
Colorful C1920 Chinese Semi-Precious Gemstone Grape Cluster Dress Clip I am drawn to anything multicolored so I was immediately taken with this circa 1920 gilt Chinese dress clip in the form of a cluster of grapes. Each grape is an individually bezel-set, cabochon-cut gemstone. The varieties include coral, turquoise, rose quartz (center), aventurine, amethyst, carnelian, lapis lazuli or sodalite, and jade. The cluster with stem is 1 5/8" high and the clip mechanism is 1 1/8" long, tightly hinged, and has little teeth on the bottom edge only for a firm grip. It is signed "China" on the underside.

A very attractive ornament as a brooch clip, this semiprecious gemstone fruit is also perfect in size, color and style to wear over a strand of pearls, beads, or on a chain or cord. This hand-crafted Deco era novelty is in wonderful condition. When new, all things Asian were mysterious in the US and imported jewelry was not found in the typical downtown emporium. Lucky this beauty with its fine craftsmanship was lovingly preserved for us to enjoy!

Click for more detail...
Antique Artist Signed HP Porcelain Floral Brooch & Pendant with GF Chain This nicely sized circa 1910 hand-painted pendant / brooch has a burst of colorful chrysanthemums on its domed porcelain face. The brooch measures 2" by 1 ½" and is about 3/8" deep from the base of the wire-twist edged bezel frame to the top of the porcelain plaque.

The painting reveals the skill of a trained artist; she understood color shading as well as the effect of carefully placed highlights to give these vibrant golden and purple chrysanthemums depth. The back of the painting is signed "Blanche Krueger, 1908" and has a stamped "29," probably the German porcelain maker’s mark. The brooch is set in a gold-filled frame with a swivel pendant bale and a C-clasp pin with extended shaft (the style around the end of the 19th century). This unusual presentation (versus the typical brass plate backing with prongs) emphasized the quality and care taken in creating a fine porcelain brooch. I have paired the pendant with a mid-20th century new/old stock 12K gold-filled 18" neck chain to double your options. This is a lively, uplifting porcelain artwork and it’s in wonderful condition.

Click for more detail...
1920's UNCAS Egyptian Art Deco Brass Ring with Turtles & Peking Glass Egypt mania spread across the globe in the 1920s and this rare brass ring captures the exotic spirit of the accessories of the time. The brass ring has a hammered-look background upon which are affixed two sharply detailed turtles. Imitation jade (called Peking Glass by many) cabochons are set in toothed bezel mounts; the larger stone is flanked top and bottom by scrolls. The ring is adjustable and is currently a size 7. The back has an etched number "1124" with a "6" beneath. I have left the original patina in place as it adds so much to the aged effect of the ring. The inside is stamped with an arrow through a "U," the trademark of the Uncas Company of Providence, Rhode Island, founded in 1911. It’s so hard to find good costume rings from this period as this was really the beginning of the acceptance of frankly faux jewelry and this is a superb example in unworn condition!

Click for more detail...
Oversize 1970's Fantasy Horses Triple Tier Pendant Necklace Oh, my, how do I describe this fantastical 1970’s pendant necklace simply? It’s three tiers of imaginary horse-like creatures with fanned tails and scrolled accents that I \ suggest an Asian flavor. The antiqued silver-plated pendant is 3 ¾" wide at the top and falls 6" deep. The elaborate curling "stripes" of the creatures are cast into the bodies and have textured finishes. I would bet they’d take very well to enamel or paints if you wish to create your own psychedelic masterpiece! The two lengths of interwoven chain when combined with the width of the pendant give the necklace an inner diameter of 19 ½"; the clasp is the spring-ring style. Not signed but significant for sure, this wild vintage necklace is in excellent condition.

The adjustable screw tops have gilt findings on the back portion and silver-color pearl cups. The earrings are in great condition with no damage nor significant wear. Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Sunflower_MicroMosaic_Dome_Pin: Antique Italy Micro Mosaic Domed Floral Bouquet Pin with Sunflower
Click for more detail...
Antique Italy Micro Mosaic Domed Floral Bouquet Pin with Sunflower This lively example of antique Italian micro-mosaic jewelry exhibits the finer hand-work and tiny size of the older glass inlay miniatures. The domed brooch is 1 3/8" wide and3/8’ high. The three layers of tesserae use primarily petal-form deep blue and white tiles with turquoise, navy, and red "bricks" as borders. The outermost layer alternates designs of large leaves and butterflies. The center floral bouquet incorporates a variety of small wildflowers, a rose, pink-petaled larger blossoms, and a large sunflower made of individual shaded petals. (Don’t they look like candy corn?) The smaller white and pink floral cane slices in the center are barely over 1 millimeter in diameter! One really needs to see the artisan’s work with a magnifying glass to appreciate the care and precision required. (And, having done so, I can say all tiles are present!) An Etruscan style beaded border rims the brass brooch which has the older style C-clasp on the pin. Not marked, but undeniably Italy in origin, you will be fascinated with this little masterpiece.

C1910 Edwardian Filigree Bangle with 3 Large Blue Topaz Glass Stones This bedazzling circa 1910 Edwardian filigree bangle is finished in = gold and set with three large blue topaz colored glass stones. The bangle measures ½" wide and is 2 3/16" in diameter across the width of the oval interior. The lace-like filigree has two a central band of cusped ovals contrasted by upright bars. Each of the three, open-back stones is 8mm in diameter and set in a bezel for a fine jewelry effect. The closure is accessed by a push tab; a sliding double-bar keeps the bracelet from hanging loose. The modest maker did not sign this lovely bangle which is in wonderful condition with only a tiny bit of wear to the back of the clasp. Those big glass stones are vivid and reflect brilliantly.
