Click for more detail...

C1920 Rhodium-Plated Filigree Hinged Bangle with Amethyst Crystal Baguettes This circa 1915-1925 filigree hinged bangle could be called Edwardian or Art Deco—the lacy style was popular at the turn of the century yet bangles were de rigueur for the "It" girl of the flapper era. This model is ¾" wide with an inner diameter across the oval opening of 2 3/8". The rhodium-plated filigree truly does have the ethereal lightness of lace punctuated by three bezel-set amethyst crystal baguettes jewels, each 1/4" high. Two crystal rhinestones sparkle on the front as well, colorless and brilliant.

The bangle is hinged with a very stable and secure bar that slides within the filigree walls to reinforce them and also ensure the bangle will never fall off your wrist accidentally. The push-clasp is released only by pressing both the top and bottom bottoms—extra security. This ultra feminine, early 20th century be-jeweled bangle is in wonderful condition.

This is a specially priced estate consignment item and does not qualify for further store discount, however, most store items do. New pieces arrive each day so please take time for a browse!

Click for more detail...

Antique Rose-Cut Bohemian Red GARNET Cross Pendant on Gold-Filled Chain Necklace This circa 1900 antique cross pendant is set with rose-cut deep red garnets in .900 gilt silver which looks like rose gold. The pendant measures just under 1" long (not including the bail which is ¼" long). The garnets, likely Bohemian, are rich pure red, not brown, and have six-facet, peaked tops. Each is securely held with tiny beads in an open-back setting.

The pendant hangs from an old-stock, never used 1950’s gold-filled chain, 16" in length, with a spring-ring clasp. The bail is stamped with a tiny hallmark and "G 900" which, I believe, stands for gold on .900 purity silver. European jewelers often used to set garnets in gilt silver. The bail is generous with an inner opening of 5mm by 3mm so you can certainly slip the pendant onto a strand of small pearls or a black or dark satin ribbon: this would have been perfectly appropriate in Victorian times and is always smart. The pendant is in excellent condition (and the chain is new/old stock).

Click for more detail...

C1925 Art Deco Romantic Porcelain Pendant on Taille D'Epargne Enamel Chain A romantic European porcelain plaque depicting an 18th century couple is framed in an Art Deco enameled mounting and hung from a chain of exquisite taille d’epargne enamel links to create an unforgettable necklace. The pendant alone is about 1 1/8" in height and 7/8" in width. The gold-plated frame has glossy black enamel on the geometric triangular accents and border. The complimentary plaque above continues the use of very ornate, sharply stamped details and black enamel.

The scenic cabochon has a transfer multicolor scene of a pair of lover on a garden path leaning toward each other as she grasps a bouquet of blues-stemmed flowers (forget-me-not, perhaps?). Their costumes date them to about 1760. The back of the porcelain tablet has an impressed model number often used in Germany or French maker molds.

The chain is impressive enough to be a necklace on its own. Each link is taille d'epargne enameled on both sides in black and invisibly hinged. The two strands create an overall length of 15 ¾" including the spring-ring clasp.

This circa 1925 piece is in wonderful condition. The detail invites close inspection and leads to a sincere appreciation of the fine work used in every technique.

This is a specially priced estate consignment item and does not qualify for further store discount, however, most store items do. New pieces arrive each day so please take time for a browse!

Click for more detail...

C1925 Egyptian Revival Czechoslovakia Glass Pharaoh & Mummies Pendant Necklace My heart stopped when I saw this circa 1925 Egyptian Revival necklace: it was clearly made in Egypt or the Near East yet uses Czechoslovakian glass and silver-luster stones. It’s a brilliant pairing of East and West in one memorable design.

The pendant measures 4" by 1 ¾" by about 3/8" deep (including the bale and Czecho glass teardrop). The frame around the portrait of the caramel slag glass pharaoh portrait is made of a silver tone metal. It could be a lower-than-sterling purity, and has a pair of mummies richly stamped in hieroglyphics on each side of the portrait. The raised glass "cameo" is highlighted in a muted russet rose tone that matches the swirls in the glass cabochon jewels and the teardrop that is suspended from a ball-chain drape. Four facetted black/silver luster glass jewels simulating marcasites sparkle on the sides.

The 20" long necklace with spring-ring clasp is original—you can see it was secured into a thin, soldered sleeve inside the fancy, wide, stamped bale and is not removable—no need to worry about it going missing! The spring-ring clasp is a little off center in the back but I prefer to leave original items as found, especially when they are in such enviable condition as this necklace is! For a shot of color, I added a bit of russet rose cording to play off the Czecho glass; you could create a similar effect with a ribbon, string, or beaded chain. The pendant has an impressive size, intricate style, and is so quintessentially Egyptian Revival that you will be transported to the pyramids each time you slip it on!

This is a specially priced estate consignment item and does not qualify for further store discount, however, most store items do. New pieces arrive each day so please take time for a browse!

Click for more detail...

Edwardian Faux Green Pearl Long Chain Sautoir Necklace This circa 1910 Edwardian faux pearl pendant has a rich deep mint-green color that really shines thanks to layers of luster on the baroque swirled surface of the pear-shaped drop. The fine rolo link silver-plated chain is 26" long and punctuated with long rice and round beads in the same lush green shade. The pendant alone is 1 1/16" long and 5/8" wide; it hangs from a long extension of three round and one rice bead that measures 2"—very daring as it swings within the decolletage!

This luxurious turn-of-the-century necklace is in wonderful condition, it shows no signs of wear at all.

Click for more detail...

1920's European Champleve Enamel & Glass Jewel Bar Pin This circa 1920 champleve enameled bar pin is centered by a glass jewel for an extra pop of color and elegance. The brass pin has a beaded border and measures 1 ¾" wide by ½" high; the molded facetted sapphire blue oval stone is ¾" across.
Likely European in origin (perhaps Czechoslovakian), the pin has opaque cornflower blue and lime green enamels. The glass stone is transparent with no bubbles; there is a tiny nick at one facet line (only visible with magnification). The pin is in very fine condition with patina as found; it has a pin with C clasp,

Click for more detail...

1920's Glass Star Sapphires & Brass Filigree Double Pendant Necklace This doubly feminine 1920’s pendant necklace showcases two glass faux star sapphires in bright cornflower blue accented by brass filigree mountings and sparkling blue rhinestones. The larger oval pendant measures 1 ½" wide by 1 1/8" high and the drop beneath is 1" high by 5/8" wide; thus the total height of both pieces is 2 ¼". The filigree mountings have tiny beaded surfaces which give them a lacy look. The glass cabochons’ stars are quite prominent and the blue of the chaton rhinestones is intense—just as we’d dream to find in the best sapphires.

The brass neck chains have unusual long/short links and their total inner length including the top width of the pendant comes to 15 ½". The clasp is the earlier spring-ring style. The necklace has the patina with which it came to me which enhances the passage of time. Be bewitching in blue with this 1920’s beauty!

Charming Late Edwardian Blue Opal Glass Triple Pendant Necklace This circa 1915 transitional Edwardian to Art Deco pendant showcases heavenly translucent blue opal glass beads and one large collet-set cabochon. The large blue beads and the cab have the color of deep blue chalcedony while the smaller rice beads are lighter in hue. The cab and triple drop pendant ornament is 2 ¾" in length. Each of the three orbs is topped with brass bead cap. The total length of the brass chain-linked rice-shaped bead necklace is 22".

The necklace has a spring-ring clasp and is in very fine condition. It could be called Czech style but this unsigned beauty is luscious enough to win praise on its own.

Click for more detail...

C1920 Czech Style Brass Filigree & Fancy Carnelian Glass Pendant Necklace I adore vintage European jewelry from the 1920’s—the makers of findings and glass ornaments really took pride in the quality and character of their designs. This necklace exemplifies the rich heritage of the time and suggests a Czechoslovakian origin in the gilt brass stampings and cherry carnelian glass pieces. The lozenge pendant is 2 3/8" high including the clip-on bale. The center glass ornament is nearly 1" long and has three flat vertical facets. On each side is an oval cabochon.

The fun ribbed cylindrical glass beads connect to the pendant and alternate with stamped brass oval beads. The total length of the two strand is 18 ¼". More red-toned carnelian beads, spheres in this case, are chain-linked like the rest, and continue to a spring-ring clasp at the back. The necklace is not signed but has a strong early Czech Art Deco style and is in wonderful condition.

Click for more detail...

Feminine 1920's Faux Pearl Lavaliere Necklace with Cut Crystal Drop This 1920’s lavaliere necklace combines fine silver-plated chains and faux white pearls with a large cut crystal drop to very feminine effect. The total length of the necklace is just under 18" and the cut crystal drop with filigree bale is 1" high and 5/8" wide. I see only two tiny nicks on facet junctions and the tip is perfect—that is a rarity! The crystal has an especially large size and nice cutting and the pearls and fine chain add delicacy to the design. The necklace closes with a pierced hook fold-over clasp and is in lovely condition. It’s especially appropriate for wear with evening dresses or lightweight blouses and ruffled tops.

Click for more detail...

Ultra Feminine C1915 Rich Ruby Red Glass & Faux Pearl Lavaliere This circa 1915 transitional Edwardian to Art Deco lavaliere features a rich ruby color faceted glass pendant in a silver-plated frame dangling from a fancy stamped bale. The total length of the jointed pendant is 1 5/8" and the width is just under ½". The open-back, oval glass jewel is uniquely faceted with parallel horizontal bars across the domed reverse and a special blend of 3-, 4-, and 5-sided facets on the face. The lack of a traditional flat center table encourages more light to reflect off the many smaller surfaces.

The bale is a blend of streamlined ribs and also stylized flowers showing the drive towards 1920’s geometric deco styling. The fine link 16" long chain is accented with four small cream faux glass pearls. The filigree hook fold clasp completes this dainty period necklace which is in wonderful condition.

C1910 Edwardian Filigree Bangle with 3 Large Blue Topaz Glass Stones This bedazzling circa 1910 Edwardian filigree bangle is finished in gold and set with three large blue topaz colored glass stones. The bangle measures ½" wide and is 2 3/16" in diameter across the width of the oval interior. The lace-like filigree has two a central band of cusped ovals contrasted by upright bars. Each of the three, open-back stones is 8mm in diameter and set in a bezel for a fine jewelry effect. The closure is accessed by a push tab; a sliding double-bar keeps the bracelet from hanging loose. The modest maker did not sign this lovely bangle which is in wonderful condition with only a tiny bit of wear to the back of the clasp. Those big glass stones are vivid and reflect brilliantly.
