Dramatic Mexico Signed Sterling Extreme Color-Change Synthetic ALEXANDRITE Ring A flower that changes its color depending on the light is a rare breed indeed but that’s why you’ll have with this mid-century Mexican sterling and synthetic alexandrite ring.
The stone is a showy 12mm in diameter and set very high and secure in six prongs which allow the crucial light to come in all the way down to the deep culet. The rays or petals of the sterling flower setting extend 7/8" across; they aid in providing more reflections as well as giving the ring a strongly modernist feel.

When viewed under different types of light, the gem changes color from a deep amethyst purple to a vivid fuchsia pin. Many call this a lab-created alexandrite. This type of stone is also referred to as synthetic spinel or synthetic color-change corundum. (The funny thing is, true alexandrites actually change from green to red hues, so why anyone thought to attach that name to these types of stones is beyond me!)

The ring is a size 5 and is stamped on the inside with several marks: Hecho en Mexico, Sterling, 925, Fl, and the Eagle assay stamp, No. 3. The ring is in superb condition. For design alone, it is noteworthy, but the stone will certainly spark many a conversation!

Good Luck Vintage Carved Happy HOTEI / Buddha in Hat Necklace This happy vintage Hotei figure is carved green hardstone (it may be aventurine or jade) and wears a sun-shading brass hat with prong-set faux ruby. Hotei, often confused with Buddha, is actually one of the seven Japanese Shinto gods of good luck. Sometimes called Laughing Buddha, Hotei is the god of happiness, laughter, and the wisdom of contentment. (In Chinese Buddhism he is known as Budai, the Loving or Friendly One and is considered Bodhisattva Maitreya in disguise.) This busy deity is also the patron of the weak, children, bartenders, and fortune tellers!

Smiling with his eyes closed, Hotei is 1" high and hangs from a 18 ½" long curb link brass chain with safety clasp. Likely dating to the 1930’s or 1940’s, this chubby, cheery Hotei is in great condition and offers good luck and prosperity to the wearer.

Vintage Figural Peacock Marcasites & White 18K Gold-Plated Ring Deserving to be proud is this peacock with a marcasite-set tail as she serves as the front of this white gold-plated ring. The height of the regal bird is 7/8" and the width of the peacock and three flowers on each side is 5/8".

The detail is crisp and very impressive. The fanned tail is highlighted with nine marcasites. The ring band is a size 6 1/2 and is stamped "18K Elec Plate" identifying the white gold finish. It has very high luster and will certainly match any white gold or sterling pieces you already own. The condition is excellent as is the quality on this vintage ring honoring this magical bird. Did you know that some cultures have believed the peacock was incorruptible and could dispel evil spirits? Worth a try!

Vintage VAN DELL Carved Ivory Roses & Pink Gold-Filled Leaves Link Bracelet Three full-bloom roses are hand-carved of genuine ivory and set between pink gold-filled leaves in this vintage Van Dell bracelet. The total length is 7 5/8" with the width and depth of each rose is ½". The petals are carved in layers with the notches and furls of the natural flowers--each unique. The alternating oval links have Florentine etched triplets of golden leaves domed in asymmetrical clusters.

The ring at the end is stamped "Van Dell, 1/20 12KT G.F." and the spring-ring clasp is stamped "1/20 12K". The Van Dell ring is soldered rigidly to the last link making it easy for you to put the bracelet on without assistance. There is also a safety chain with a small spring ring—a quality touch—that ensures the bracelet will never fall off when you’re unaware.

This hand-carved bracelet is in wonderful condition and is a classic, mid-century piece that will always be in style.

Vintage MUSTARD Seeds Cylinder Pendant on Gold-Filled Chain Necklace This unique vintage pendant is a cylinder full of mustards seeds—a traditional symbol of faith and hope. The 5/8" long transparent jar has gold-plated round caps top and bottom and a ring bail. The 16 ½" long gold-filled chain is new-old stock with a spring-ring clasp stamped "1/20 12K." The necklace is in wonderful condition.

Typically, one mustard seed is encased in a pendant for a touch of luck; with this abundance of seeds, your odds of good fortune can’t help but multiply!

Mustard seeds have been worn for centuries as talismans to ensure good luck and bright futures. One quote from the Bible states: If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed-nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matt. 17:20.

1940's RETRO 10K Yellow Gold & AQUAMARINE Ring This1940’s gold ring features a simple and elegant rectangular aquamarine set in 10K yellow gold. The scissor-faceted stone measures 10mm by 8mm and has an estimated weight of 2.25 carats. It is prong-set in a basket style with petal-shaped piercings on each side. The ring is a size 6 ½.

The stone has a pinpoint nick at one facet edge (seen with loupe) but no scratches. The table is smooth and well polished. The inside of the ring has the 10K gold stamp and the maker’s W hallmark. The aquamarine has good color saturation and a streamlined Retro style that is always in fashion.

Vintage Genuine IVORY Carved Rose Pendant, G.F. Leaves & Neck Chain Deep carving and fine details on the gold-filled golden leaves give this vintage ivory rose pendant natural realism. The pendant measures 1" high and ½" deep. The several tiers of petals are cut with notches and furls to capture the lush character of a rose in full bloom. The dainty pair of leaves above has minute serrations and veins that accurately capture the real thing.

The back of the pendant has an applied plaque reading "K.L. 12K GF). The 18" chain is an old-stock, never used curb link style with a spring-ring clasp stamped "1/20 12KGF. " The condition of this Pre-Ban ivory pendant is superb and the look is timelessly elegant.

WELLS Sterling Vermeil Link Bracelet with Golden TIGER EYE Cabochons This vintage WELLS sterling vermeil link bracelet alternates cabochons of golden tiger’s eye quartz with textured leaves. The total length is 7 ½", the width is 3/8" and the height of the cabochons is ¼".

Each of the four cat’s eye cabs have that enigmatic striation and banding effect that moves as your wrist turns—very beguiling! The leaves have very fine ribbing that adds to the depth and realism of the design.

The spring-ring clasp has a tag nearby reading "WELLS Ster." There is also a safety chain with smaller spring-ring clasp—this ensures the bracelet is not lost and is a sign of better quality jewelry. The condition is wonderful and the style is elegant and timeless.

Pair Pre-Ban IVORY Gorgeous Carved Full Bloom Rose & Foliage Bangles Bracelets Lush foliage, rosebuds and full-blossom roses burst forth from this pair of deeply carved, pre-ban vintage ivory bangle bracelets. Each bangle is 5/16" in wide, 3/8" thick, and has an inner opening of 2 9/16".

Do take some time to admire the incredible handwork that went into carving the fine serrated edges on the leaves—some are translucent they are so thinly sculpted as they curl above the surface; the petals that furl into the centers of the roses; and the smoothly polished background. The natural cross-hatch graining is visible on the ultra-smooth interior of each bangle and the edges of the carved foliage and roses.

The bangles are in superb condition. It is rare to find a matched pair and the carving on this duo is truly impressive.

WIDE, Etched Vintage Gold-Filled Bangle with Ideal Monogram Panel This mid-century gold-filled bangle has exceptional size and brilliance plus its monogram panel is pristine—ideal for engraving! The width is ¾" and the inner diameter across the width is 2 3/8". The front has finely engraved leaves one each side of that diamond-shaped blank panel and the back is plain. I hope the photos allow you to see the details of the engraving—the polished finish was so bright on white it was hard not to wash everything out yet on black the fine criss-cross lines on those leaves and the scalloped edges of the diamond were nearly lost.

The bangle has a super secure push-button clasp and is stamped "1/20 12K G.F" on the inside. The condition is very fine with no damage. If you like gold, this has it in bright, big dimensions and can be personalized to suit only you!

Dramatic Estate 10K Yellow Gold Full-Body Snake Ring with Gem Set Head As I am always charmed by snake jewelry, I could not let this beauty slide away. This estate snake ring is 10K gold, 1 ½" long, with a radiant diamond-cut body and gemstones adorning her head. The size 6 ring has two large faceted ruby eyes—each over 3mm in diameter (no inclusions visible to the eye.) The crown of the snake’s head is a 9mm long faceted gem, most likely colorless quartz. The snake’s tail coils sinuously down your finger while the beguiling head angles upward. The inside is stamped "10KA." Long a symbol of true love, this exotic snake elongates and slenderizes the finger in a most flattering manner. This fabulous estate ring has real presence and is in excellent condition.

Fascinating Long Multi-Gemstone Carved Beads Necklace with Buddha I purchased this fascinating, one-of-a-kind necklace several years ago at an estate sale. It came from a fine Boston area store and cost about $200 in the 1980’s. It’s such a mesmerizing combination of gemstones and styles that I’m sure you’ll be charmed too. I've taken images on several different backgrounds so you can appreciate the depth of colors and the cuts.

The 28 ½" necklace includes orbs of polished amethyst, aventurine, tigers eye quartz, and rose quartz as well as several novelty shapes in pink/black marble. There is a large 7/8" diameter green floral cloisonné bead, a carved rose quartz ¾" seated Buddha, rose quartz disks, and gold-filled spacer beads and filigree rounds to keep the necklace fluid. The fancy filigree clasp is gilt "Silver" as stamped. I purchased the necklace with its original receipt, it has never been worn. A perfect compliment to any pastel color ensemble and great way to start conversation with your admirers!

Gorgeous, Large 14K Gold Habille Shell Cameo with Diamond Pin / Pendant This special 14K Victorian style carved shell cameo portrait is graced with a diamond pendant. The deep bezel setting is 1 7/8" high and 1 1/2" wide. The shell cameo is finely carved as evidenced in the details of the lovely woman’s tresses and beaded bandeau, floral spray at her shoulder, and carved earrings. The white gold wire-twist necklace is set with a square pendant with a genuine diamond. As you can see, the shell has no defects and the diamond pendant is secure.

The gold frame has an applied "14K" tag. The brooch has a safety clasp and there are also double loop bales which allow you to use a ribbon, chain, or even a pearl necklace to double the wearing options of this gorgeous cameo (I simply used faux pearls here). This fine hand-carved cameo is in excellent condition will easily become a family heirloom.

1940's Gold-Filled Double Aquamarine Crystal & Genuine Pearl Pendant Necklace This 1940’s gold-filled pendant necklace showcases two richly colored aquamarine crystals and a genuine cultured pearl in a leafy presentation. The total length of the pendant including bale is 1 5/8" and the width is 5/8". The faceted simlulated aquamarine ovals are set in open-back bezel frames to maximize light transmission. Below them dangles a 5mm cultured white pearl. The bale can accommodate a chain or ribbon of up to 3mm in diameter. The back of the leaf ornament is signed "PR.ST.CO 1/2012KG." The 12K gold-filled 18" chain has a spring-ring clasp. The necklace is in excellent condition and is an enduringly lovely 1940’s Retro beauty.  

Unusual Vintage Polished Onyx & Jewel Pendant Necklace, GF Bow Bale, Orig. Box This vintage gold-filled pendant uses a pretty bow and leaf bale to suspend a polished convex onyx oval set in a gold-filled bezel mounting with a jeweled center. The bow is 1 1/8" wide and the onyx oval is 5/8" high; the total height from the top of the bow to the bottom of the pendant is 1 5/8".

A satin finish on the top portion of the bow’s loops is contrasted by brightly polished edges; the leaf is satin-finished. The crystal (or clear gem) in the pendant is set open-back within a rhodium or silver diamond frame. The back of the pendant has an applied tag reading "1/20 12 K.G.F." with the jeweler’s hallmark. The fancy twist-link chain has an inner diameter of about 15" and closes with a spring-ring clasp stamped "1/20 12K GF." This circa 1955 pendant has a little dark area on the upper edge of the bezel (visible only from the side), otherwise, it’s in great condition. It will arrive in the original "The Marquis Collection" faux leather.
