Click for more detail...
Exotic Vintage Sterling Mesh Snake Adjustable Bracelet with Gems This vintage sterling silver snake bracelet is made of a firm, yet bendable, mesh with sheet silver tail and gem-set head. The bracelet is about 3/16" wide at the mesh portion and about ½" wide where the head and tail bypass. Total length is 8 1/2". The mesh is ultra fine—you need magnification to see the tiny loops of the weave-- and it molds to fit your wrist and is easily put on and removed. The head is set with two carnelian cabochon eyes and a large green cabochon at the crest which I believe is aventurine—it has tiny mottled specs and flashes of foil-like inclusions. And she/he has an open mouth that I prefer to think of as smiling! "Silver" is stamped on the back of the head and the bracelet does test as at least sterling purity. This early 20th century bejeweled silver serpent is in splendid condition.

The finish is warm with a gold hue, it may have been more yellow when new. The back of the brooch has a safety clasp pin and the "Sandor" stamp. You can appreciate the careful construction of the soldered layers from the reverse. This 1940’s brooch is in very fine condition with no missing or damaged stones.

Click for more detail...
MODERNIST Hand-Crafted Sterling "Wide Wave" Links Necklace A distinctive oval link of two "waves" joined by soldered rings is repeated in this continuous 33 ½" long sterling silver Modernist style necklace. Each link measures 1 ¾" (including one end ring) and about 5/8" wide and has a brushed exterior surface (not glaring to the eye and conceals any minor scuff very well). The open style gives this studio-crafted artwork a lightness of spirit and allows the garment beneath to show through, as splashes of color on a passing wave. The necklace is not signed or marked but tests as sterling purity. It is in very fine condition and makes a bold punctuation mark on a simple top or dress.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Jerusalem_SS_Citrine_Gem_Cross: Richly Hand-Crafted Sterling Jerusalem Cross with Jewel and Hand-Made Chain
Click for more detail...
Richly Hand-Crafted Sterling Jerusalem Cross with Jewel and Hand-Made Chain This vintage Jerusalem cross is hand-crafted from sterling silver and set with an impressive cut citrine color gemstone or crystal. The cross measures 2" wide and ½" deep and is composed of cast silver, domed ornaments with mille-grain (hand-done filigree wire-work), and a bezel setting holding the center jewel. This jewel has an intense rich color and contrasts very well with the oxidized surface of the silver cross. The back of the stone setting has an opening to reveal the stone’s culet; no foil no is visible thus this brilliantly colored jewel is not a rhinestone. The bale is a fan shape cast with a star at the base. From the back, you can see the that reverse of the cross was also thoughtfully designed.

The 19 1/2" long chain is composed of oval links, each link-soldered closed to one next to it so there are actually "pairs" of links forming the strand (yes, it is quite supple when worn as well as solidly constructed.) The clasp is machine-made. The links test as slightly less pure in silver than the pendant itself which tests positive as at least .925 (sterling) purity. The two pieces are in wonderful condition and have the treasured look of tradition and history.

Click for more detail...
1930's Quality Sterling ART DECO Link Bracelet with Rhinestones, Rhodium-Plated This 1930’s Art Deco sterling silver bracelet has eleven rectangular links joined by small four-petaled flowers—all aglitter with tiny crystal rhinestones. The bracelet measures 7 ½" long and 3/8" wide. The cast links, plated in rhodium for a permanently bright finish, have tiny beaded details that imitate the settings of diamonds. The box clasp is nearly invisible when closed and is reinforced with a fine sterling safety chain with spring-ring. Remarkably, this fine quality sterling bracelet is not marked by the maker, only with "Sterling." It is in excellent condition with no missing or yellow stones. The dainty, open design convincingly simulates fine diamond and platinum jewelry of the period.

Click for more detail...
Amazing Sterling Filigree Peacock Earrings - 4 Layers of Feathers You will be astounded at the detail of these articulated sterling silver filigree peacock earrings. This is true filigree work at its painstaking finest! Not merely stamped-out designs, the minutely thin sterling wires are hand-bent and soldered into the intricate feathers and the detailed bodies of the birds. Each earring is 2 ¾" long and 1 3/8" wide at the widest portion of the fanned tail. This is the first pair I have seen with four tiers of the cupped round drops. The tiers, too, are joined so each layer of the tail moves independently. The earrings have posts with new vinyl clutches. They are stamped "925" for sterling purity on the back. This rightfully proud pair is in excellent condition.

Streamline ART DECO Sterling Silver Bracelet with Orange Plastic Rings Definitely Deco and likely continental, this 1930’s sterling link bracelet is jazzed up with orange hard-plastic rings—a nod to the Cartier carved-coral hoops of the period. The 6 7/8" bracelet has 3/8" diameter rings. The long silver links are diagonally stamped with thick and thin ribs; the connector bars are horizontally ribbed. A spring-ring clasp stamped "Sterling" closes the bracelet; the flat rings on either end are also stamped "Sterling Silver." This sophisticated Art Deco bracelet is in excellent condition.

Click for more detail...
Suave 1920's Sterling & Pyramid Cut Emerald Crystal Link Bracelet Elegant styling and unusual cut-crystal stones put this Art Deco period sterling silver bracelet above the rest. The 7 ½" long bracelet is 5/16" wide and 3/16" high at the tops of the pyramid-cut stones. Each link is hinged with a diagonal stamped bar and the box clasp is reinforced with a chain with spring-ring closure. The clasp is signed "Sterling, L&M" (Leach & Miller of Attleboro, Massachusetts) with two serrated leaves as the logo.

The prong-set stones have very rich emerald coloring, more intense than shown here. And, they are not foiled so they will not get cloudy over time. There is some oxidation visible through the stones since the sterling back plates are solid but it is not as evident as it appears in the bright photos. This Deco bracelet is fine quality and supply graces the wrist.

Click for more detail...
IVAR HOLTH Norway Modernist Sterling Guilloche Enamel Petal Earrings These mid-century Modernist sterling silver earrings were designed by Norwegian artist Ivar Holth and enameled in white using the guilloche technique. Each petal-form earring is 1 1/8" high and is gilded on the back and the edges. Tiny rays or ribs radiate from the point of each earring, suggesting the folds of a flower petal. The earrings have clip backs and are stamped "925S Sterling Norway" with the hallmark of Ivar Holth (sometimes misspelled Holt). The lustrous enamel earrings are in excellent condition. Their gently evocative form complements both abstract and representational shapes so they will go perfectly with other enamel necklaces and bracelets.

Click for more detail...
Guglielmo CINI Cast Sterling Silver Sailboat Pin A rare vessel, indeed, this vintage sterling silver sailboat pin was made by the Guglielmo Cini studio. The sailboat is 2 ¼" high and 1 ¾" wide. It is a cast (not stamped) brooch of good weight. The "Guglielmo Cini Sterling" signature is on the back. The pin closes with a safety clasp. This sailboat is ship shape with no damage, just he expected surface wear (the shadows in the sail are from reflections).

Guglielmo Cini left his native Italy at the age of 17 and with a background in jewelry-making founded his company in Boston, Mass., in 1922 working primarily in sterling. His jewelry is always well crafted and has been continually collected by those who appreciate his original designs.

Click for more detail...
Rare Tall Vintage SIAM Buddha God Sterling Silver & Niello Cuff If you believe big jewelry is a necessity, you will instantly appreciate this vintage sterling silver cuff made in Siam (now Thailand) using the niello enamel technique. The cuff is 3 7/8" high at the peaked front and tapers to 2" at the back. The measurement across the inside width is 2 ½" but you can resize it up or down to suit. The front has a praying figure in lotus pose with winged extensions and a halo hovering behind. The sides have smaller figures on one bended knee. I believe that both the large figure in the center and those on the side are depictions of Buddha. All figures and the ornamental band at the bottom are etched with fine detail using traditional Siamese motifs. The classic graphite gray niello finish is permanently affixed and contrasts sharply with the engraved designs. The cuff is stamped "Sterling 925%" on the inside and is in great condition.

Niello is a fine silver decoration technique that dates back to the 4th century B.C. It is created made by engraving a design upon the smooth silver surface and, with several intricate operations, filling the background with the lustrous black enamel. The niello metallic surface is an amalgam of silver, copper, lead and sulphur (sulfur) which is fused over heat for a permanent finish and then polished for a lustrous finish.

Click for more detail...
Fancy Vintage Silver PARIS Scenes Adjustable Link Bracelet If you’ve not yet made it to the City of Lights, there’s no reason you can’t have a lovely memento in the form of a vintage silver bracelet. This 1 ¼" wide bracelet has eight lacy panels which depict famous sites: Notre Dame de Paris, L’Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Couer de Montmartre, and the Eiffel Tower. A triangular fob showing Le Tour Eiffel is a natural way to tip the extender chain which is latched into the slim hook. Each panel is shown twice in the total length which can be adjusted from 7 ¼" up to 8". The marks on the back of the bracelet ("star and crescent" along with assay mark) indicate this chic souvenir was made in Egypt and is .800-.900 silver. This mid-century bracelet is in wonderful condition and has that coveted patina of time. And for far less than the cost of a good Parisian meal (or even similar bracelets!) you can regale your friends with tales of your bon voyage!

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Peruzzi_Lapis_SIlver_Parure_LP: Rare PERUZZI FLORENCE Silver & Lapis 4-PC Necklace, Bracelet, Pin, Earring SET
Click for more detail...
Rare PERUZZI FLORENCE Silver & Lapis 4-PC Necklace, Bracelet, Pin, Earring SET What a treat it is to find a Peruzzi parure intact--and with such beautiful lapis lazuli stones as well. This heavily cast set consists of a brooch with pendant drops; a wide, link bracelet; clip earrings; and ring. All the pieces are made in the neo Renaissance style of .800 silver and are inset with what appears to be lapis cabochons (as sodalite and lapis look so familiar when polished and set, only testing of the unmounted stones can verify).

The brooch measures 2 ½" by 1 ½" and features a pair of cherub or putti on either side of the gemstone. A rose tops the lapis and five hemispherical drops swing below. The back has a T-bar pin shaft with safety clasp and the applied signature "Peruzzi Silver 800 Florence" oval tag.

The bracelet is approximately 7 ¼" long by 15/16" wide. Each of the five links has a 14mm wide oval cabochon framed by full roses with leaves; the edges are beaded, open-work scallops. A box clasp with attached safety chain keeps the bracelet on securely. The Peruzzi plaque is affixed to the underside of one link.

The earrings are 7/8" ovals with a border of alternating domes and roses. They have clip backs and the Peruzzi plaques.

Finally, the ring: it’s a generous 1 1/8" high and the patterned band is a size 7 ½". The style differs slightly from the other pieces as it has no roses or wire-twist bands around the lapis bezel. However, the style and color complement the set perfectly. All pieces were acquired together many years ago and all are in great condition with no damage.

This is a classical, high quality parure from a family revered for fine silver jewelry.
The Peruzzi family of silversmiths was well known in their native Florence, Italy, where they established a workshop in the 16th century. Some of these talented artisans immigrated to Boston in the early 20th century to create and sell their premier hand-made jewelry. All Peruzzi workshops are now closed.
