Vintage Cut CRYSTAL PAGODA Pendant on White Gold-Filled Chain Necklace This vintage cut crystal pagoda pendant has the realistic dimension and depth created by carving the multi-storied temple from the reverse. The pagoda, most likely cut in Japan, is set in a hand-crafted sterling silver mounting with wide strap sides and two secure, yet discreet, prongs. The pendant measures just under 1" high and is 7/8" wide and 5/16" deep.

The pendant comes on a new/old stock 16" long chain with spring-ring clasp which is stamped "1/20 14K G.F." The chain is the same color as white gold and matches superbly with sterling too. The pendant is in excellent condition and has the ability to reflect the colors you are wearing as well as add an exotic and elegant and reflective dash to your neckline!

Click for more detail...

Vintage .800 Silver HORSE Heads, Horseshoes, and Stallion Bracelet This vintage .800 purity silver bracelet has an unusual array of horse-themed links: horseshoes encompassing a trio of horse or stallion’s heads; a standing steed; and end links of buckled bridles. The entire length of the bracelet is 7 ¾" and just under 1" high at the center, upright, horseshoe.

The bracelet has very sharp detail and patina which enhances it thus you can discern the facial details and even bridles of the portraits as well as the joints and muscles of the standing horse. The bracelet secures with a toggle clasp. It is not signed and it tests as .800 silver fineness. The construction method could have been done any time from about 1890 to 1950, and the beloved subject matter will always be in style.

Click for more detail...

1930's Thick Carved Black BAKELITE Jeweled Floral Dress Clip Pin This deeply carved, thick black Bakelite dress clip has a lush floral design that, in the spirit of the time, has been jazzed up with cut glass rhinestones. The clip measures 2" high, 1 ½" wide, and ½" thick.

The carving is very sharp and deep with a swooping, asymmetric leaf separating the two blossoms and adding a dramatic element which is further accented by small ruby red rhinestones. Each flower has its own personality and style and is also set with a larger crystal rhinestone. These jewels, although not original to the piece, add color and a splash of glitter.

The clip mechanism has a reliable spring and tiny teeth for a firm grip. I love to wear clips as pendants and this one has such an elegant look and bold size that it’s just perfect! The clip tests quite positive as Bakelite and it‘s in wonderful condition.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item JewelArt_SS_Rosebuds_Bar_Pin: ARTS & CRAFTS Style JewelArt Sterling Rosebuds Bar Pin
Click for more detail...

ARTS & CRAFTS Style JewelArt Sterling Rosebuds Bar Pin This vintage sterling silver bar pin by JewelArt alternates rosebuds and leaves up and down with a naturalistic style recalling the Arts and Crafts era. The bar pin measures 2 5/8" by 9/32". Look closely and you will note that each of the deeply cast rosebuds varies, suggesting the pin was crafted by hand--this is not a blank strip of identical rosebuds stamped by machine.

The back of the bar pin has the "Sterling by JewelArt" plaque and a safety clasp. I would date the piece to the 1930s-40s though the style is very much in keeping with the studio jewelers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Click for more detail...

DAVID ANDERSEN Norway Sterling Enamel Modernist Large Cufflinks These vintage sterling gilt David Andersen cufflinks have a striking mid-century Modernist design and are guilloche’ enameled in pure white. Each of the larger kite-shaped faces is 1 3/16" high and 15/16" wide and engraved under the surface with splayed vertical ribs. The slimmer ends of the links are 1" long and 3/8" wide with a similar pattern.

A curved arm with a pivot for the slimmer end connects the front and back. One side is marked "D-A Sterling" and the other "Norway 925S." The translucent enamel is in excellent condition and the gilt finish appears fully intact as well (I have not polished the cufflinks).

Of course, depending on your taste or the style of your cuffs, you can wear either side of the cufflinks facing out. Thus, the links are suitable for either gender as well.

Vintage European STERLING , GUILLOCHE' Enamel & MARCASITES Double Flower Pin Three lustrous materials unite to give this vintage European floral pin extra flair. The sterling branch features two flowers, guilloche’ enameled in bright periwinkle blue, white, sunny yellow, shades of green, and lapis blue. The overall design is 1 ¾" long by about ¾" wide. The petals of the larger flower and the leaves have fine surface etchings of tiny rows of triangles beneath the enamel. The marcasites are set in beaded mountings.

The silver has a rhodium finish for tarnish resistance and extra brilliance. The back is stamped "Sterling" and the pin secures with a safety clasp. This style of work was usually done in Germany or Austria and this darling example is in garden-fresh condition!

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Cameo_Filigree_800_Bracelet-1255684259: Exceptional ITALY C1950 Shell CAMEO & Gilt .800 Silver Filigree Bracelet
Click for more detail...

Exceptional ITALY C1950 Shell CAMEO & Gilt .800 Silver Filigree Bracelet This circa 1950 Italian .800 silver and gilt bracelet showcases a lovely shell cameo centerpiece and exquisite filigree links. The bracelets’ amazing ornate links are made of filigree in the truest sense of the word: fine wires hand-worked into lacy jeweled scrolls and arabesques—not the machine stamped style see in many items. The tight coils around the cameo alternate between bright-white silver and gold while the various petal forms, coils, and paisleys of the square and flowers links are all gold in finish. The bracelet is 7 3/16" long and 1 ¼" wide at the cameo centerpiece.

The shell cameo shows a woman in profile with lush flowing locks and a gauzy bodice draped over her shoulders. The shell has clear cutting and no damage. The cameo is enclosed with an unusual frame of oval loops supported by a double wire-twist surround.

The back of the box clasp is stamped "800" and has a partial mark as well, the outline is that of the mark often used for "Italy." The bracelet is in wonderful condition and is an exceptionally fancy style that will provide a treat for the eyes—yours and your admirers!

Click for more detail...

Darling Vintage Sterling & Enamel Cobalt PANSY Pin The pansy is just about my favorite flower and this vintage sterling one is extra special as it is enameled in cobalt—a color Mother Nature has not used on the happy little faces of this blossom! The pansy is ¾" high and ¾" wide. The very center has a russet red horseshoe accent (random dots or intentional design?)) with black lashes on a field of golden yellow. The petals are visible under translucent cobalt which lends a sense of depth to the flower.

The back of the pansy is stamped "Sterling" and has a secure safety clasp on the pin. This darling pansy is pristine and guaranteed not to wilt or fade!

Click for more detail...

Machine Age 1930's ART DECO Sterling Matte & Polished Streamline Links Bracelet This circa 1925 bracelet has the sleek Machine Age lines of Streamline Art Deco with triangles and repeating angular arcs and is finished in both matte and polished surfaces. The bracelet is 7 3/8" long; the central "bow tie" is solid cast silver and is 2"long and ¾" wide. It has a matte surface while the open links have a high-polish finish.

The box-clasp blends nearly invisible into the links. Both it and the back of the central plaque are stamped with a unique hallmark of a dimensional box and the word "Sterling." This evocative Deco bracelet is in lovely condition with only light surface wear to the back. It brings you a strong sense of the early machine aesthetic—a piece for the woman with bold jewelry style!

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Ivory_Gilt_Silver_Ornate_Mount_Asian_Pdt: Vintage Carved IVORY & Gilt SILVER Chinese / Japanese Pendant Ornate Mounting
Click for more detail...

Vintage Carved IVORY & Gilt SILVER Chinese / Japanese Pendant Ornate Mounting This vintage pre-ban carved ivory and gilt silver pendant is set in an incredibly intricate filigree wire box mounting and topped with a golden Asian character blessing.

The oval pendant measures 1 5/8" high (not including bail) by 1" wide. The ivory plaque is smoothly polished yet you can still detect the natural grain. The symbol is affixed with two prongs thru the back. It seems to be composed of several characters. I cannot discern whether they are Japanese or Chinese; I believe detect "life" and "strength" in the Chinese language. It is probably an adage or longer blessing.

The setting of the ivory has a mind-numbing amount of curled and twisted wires, resembling the elaborate art of paper quilling, only done in wire. Tiny golden balls and scrolls are applied to fill in the areas between the curled leaves and flowers.

I have tested the mounting and it is of sterling purity. Gilt silver was often used for this type of laborious eastern jewelry work. The reverse of the mounting is signed, also in an Asian character. The pendant is in wonderful condition and comes in its original fabric-lined, silk-covered box. I would date it to about 1960. I have added a 24" long gold-filled chain with spring clasp from an old store stock purchase, never worn.

Click for more detail...

Vintage Sterling Silver Working BELL with Clapper Charm Bracelet This 1930’s era sterling silver bracelet has a single charm and it’s a fun and functional bell with a clapper that works! The cast silver bell is 13/16" high and 11/16" in diameter. A scrolled band sits atop the pierced sides. The clapper is a solid silver ball on a rod stem. When you move your arm, the bell tinkles softly—it really does sound like a bell. The inside of the bell has a worn "sterling" stamp as well as copyright mark.

The multi-link chain is 7 ½" long and has the old style spring-ring clasp. It is also stamped "Sterling." You could certainly add more charms to the bracelet if you wish for a marriage, holiday, or general theme. Do you hear jingle bells? Wedding bells? Or just the call of the charm collector’s muse? All would sound equally sweet on with this vintage bell charm.

1930's ART DECO Sterling & Marcasites LONG Ring by UNCAS This period Art Deco sterling silver ring by Uncas is set top to bottom with faceted marcasites. The unusually long face measures is 1 5/16" high and 9/16" wide. The marcasites, in various sizes, fill in the design of two opposing teardrops whose points meet at a center band with complimenting arcs on each side.

The shoulders of the ring have fine stamped designs of teardrops on vertical ribs. The ring is a size 6 and is stamped on the inside "Sterling U Made in USA." The condition is wonderful with no missing or damaged marcasites. And the look is pure Deco Divinity!

Modernist STEN & LAINE Finland Sterling Pendant Necklace This modernist sterling silver pendant by Sten & Laine of Finland takes the form of a perfectly circular crater draped with molten pulls or ribbons upon which float sterling balls. The pendant measures 1 ¼" in diameter and is 3/16" deep.

The marks on the bail include: (S&L graphic hallmark), 925H, (Turku mark), T7 (this signifies 1972). The pendant comes with a 16 ¼" sterling silver cable chain with spring-ring clasp (stamped 925). The pendant retains patina as found which enhances the other-worldly design of the casting.

Click for more detail...

Vintage Carved Gemstone SCARAB Beetle Pin with Sterling Roses & Leaves Setting This vintage carved blue gemstone scarab beetle is set in a pretty oval frame of sterling silver rose buds and leaves. The unusual design is 1 ¼" wide by 15/16" high and 5/16" deep.

The scarab is hand0carved carved of what appears to be lapis lazuli and is set in a beaded bezel mounting. The rosebuds are all hand-formed as are the sterling leaves and soldered to an oval frame. This frame is not marked but tests as sterling. The pin shank is secured with a C-clasp. I would date the piece to about 1910 and it is in wonderful condition and merges the exoticism of Egypt with the eternal beauty and romance of roses. This lovely pin can also be worn as a pendant when hung vertically on a ribbon or chain with a bit of thickness to offset the width of the clasp and add some importance worthy of the handcrafted bijoux.
