Vintage 14K Gold Ruby & Diamond Moderne Stripes Ring This vintage 14K yellow gold ring is set with diamonds and rubies in a pattern resembling diagonal bands of ribbon. The gem mounting of the ring is 9/16" and ½" wide. The diamonds are set in white gold and the rubies are prong-set in yellow gold and are set higher than the diamonds. The rubies have very rich fuchsia-red saturation. On each side, the ring band is split at the shoulders—a visual extension of two prongs—and is solid at the back; size is 6.

The inside of the ring is stamped "14KP" (P indicating plumb gold, not plating) and the hallmark looks like "SBT." The rind is in wonderful condition and has a simple and timeless design that is appropriate for any age.

Irish Imported CLADDAGH Gold-Plated Adjustable Bangle Bracelet This vintage gold-plated adjustable Irish Claddagh bangle takes the traditional symbol of enduring friendship and romantic love and places it front and center on an engraved bangle. The front motif of a heart is topped with a crown and presented by two hands is 1 /2" high and has an inner diameter of 7 ¼" at minimum size; it expands about ½" more to allow on/off easily.

The sides of the bangle are engraved all around with undulating vines and stylized leaves. The inside has two marks: Irish Made and "NEJ 8 F.G. Plated." The bangle is in wonderful condition and has a deep golden hue that give is the appearance of fine high-carat gold jewelry.

Dramatic Mexico Signed Sterling Extreme Color-Change Synthetic ALEXANDRITE Ring A flower that changes its color depending on the light is a rare breed indeed but that’s why you’ll have with this mid-century Mexican sterling and synthetic alexandrite ring.
The stone is a showy 12mm in diameter and set very high and secure in six prongs which allow the crucial light to come in all the way down to the deep culet. The rays or petals of the sterling flower setting extend 7/8" across; they aid in providing more reflections as well as giving the ring a strongly modernist feel.

When viewed under different types of light, the gem changes color from a deep amethyst purple to a vivid fuchsia pin. Many call this a lab-created alexandrite. This type of stone is also referred to as synthetic spinel or synthetic color-change corundum. (The funny thing is, true alexandrites actually change from green to red hues, so why anyone thought to attach that name to these types of stones is beyond me!)

The ring is a size 5 and is stamped on the inside with several marks: Hecho en Mexico, Sterling, 925, Fl, and the Eagle assay stamp, No. 3. The ring is in superb condition. For design alone, it is noteworthy, but the stone will certainly spark many a conversation!

Carved GODDESS Pendant Necklace in STERLING Headress with Semi Precious GEMS This sterling and semiprecious gemstone pendant with the face of goddess crowned wears an elaborate headdress and is entirely hand-crafted, most likely in Indonesia. Showing the popular Sajen style of ornamentation (a popular line whose pieces are also made in Indonesia), the pendant measures2 1/8" high not including the bail which adds 3/8".

The bone face has a peaceful expression with open eyes—very realistically carved and extremely smoothly polished. The headdress is made of hundreds of tiny silver ballotini and is tipped with a scrolled circle that balances the design nicely. The gems are all bezel-set and facetted with fine saturation of color and include a large round blue topaz, a round amethyst, and an oval peridot.

The back is marked .925 for sterling purity. There are openings behind the stones to allow light in so the reflections and color are enhanced. There are no maker’s hallmarks so we don’t know which fine artisan made it. I have included a 18" long fluid sterling silver snake chain with hook-spring clasp stamped "ITALY" and ".925" since this style of pendants come without—thus, you can wear the goddess right away. The bail has an inner opening of 8mm so you can easily try a cord or strand of beads as well for extra color. The condition is lovely and the look is ethereal!

Pair Pre-Ban IVORY Gorgeous Carved Full Bloom Rose & Foliage Bangles Bracelets Lush foliage, rosebuds and full-blossom roses burst forth from this pair of deeply carved, pre-ban vintage ivory bangle bracelets. Each bangle is 5/16" in wide, 3/8" thick, and has an inner opening of 2 9/16".

Do take some time to admire the incredible handwork that went into carving the fine serrated edges on the leaves—some are translucent they are so thinly sculpted as they curl above the surface; the petals that furl into the centers of the roses; and the smoothly polished background. The natural cross-hatch graining is visible on the ultra-smooth interior of each bangle and the edges of the carved foliage and roses.

The bangles are in superb condition. It is rare to find a matched pair and the carving on this duo is truly impressive.

Vintage Gerda Lynggaard for MONIES Carved Bone & Cord Long Necklace This Gerda Lynggaard for MONIES carved necklace has 23 large rounded rectangular hand-carved bone beads strung on hand-knotted thick twine and reinforced with two strands of cream cord—what a unique and warm blend of natural materials! The necklace measures approximately 39" long and each bead is about 1 ¼" wide and 3/8" thick. Each bead is made by affixing two tablets back-to-back; you can see the natural grain on some of the beads. All are polished to a warm luster so you will find yourself caressing these "touch stones" for their soothing quality. The strand is continuous and slips over the head. It has some heft so be sure to stand tall—you will be noticed!

One bead has an inlaid round sterling silver tag stamped "Gerda Lynggaard for MONIES Copenhagen" to certify its authenticity. The necklace is in excellent condition. It came from the collection of a woman who spent much time in Europe and Africa and selected only fine quality and bold artisan jewels for her collection.

Precious 14K Yellow Gold & Ruby Heart Pendant Necklace This precious gem heart pendant of 14K yellow gold is set with 16 fully facetted genuine rubies. The 5/8" high heart has open-back settings and a double bail top. The reverse of the heart is stamped "14K."

This happy heart hangs from a fine 18" curb link gold-filled chain; the spring-ring clasp is marked "1/20" to designate such. The color of the rubies is bright and rich, the size eminently wearable, and the style classically romantic!

Estate 14K Gold & Faceted 2CTW Garnet Solitaire Drop Earrings These estate 14K and garnet drop earrings feature facetted round stones, approximately 1 carat each in weight (2.0 carats total gem weight), prong-set in cup mountings. Each garnet is 6mm in diameter and the total height of each earring is 5/8". The gems are transparent with rich color and are in excellent condition. Lever-back ear wires are stamped with the designer’s hallmark and "585" the gold purity for 14K. Many gems are associated with birth months and garnet is assigned to January. Gem energies and powers in garnet are also linked to those whose Zodiac sign is Capricorn. The deep color and elegant style make these garnet earrings suitable for all ages and levels of casual or formal dress.

Elegant Smoky Quartz Large Gemstones Flexible Bracelet If you like big gemstones and earthy hues, the large smoky quartz rounds of this estate bracelet will captivate you instantly. This impressive bracelet measures 11/16" wide across the gem portion and tapers to 3/8" at the back. The approximate inside length is 7".

Each smoky quartz stone is individually cut and polished and has a large, clear table that, by adding to the weight and depth of the stone, maximizes the color. The bracelet has 20 stones, each approximately 8mm in diameter. Since they are set I can only approximate weight but a conservative total is 24 carats. The prong settings have good, deep cups to protect the sides of the gemstones as well as the culets. The bracelet has total flexibility across the wrist since each vertical pair of stones is hinged to move independently. This unique construction and lack of a hallmark suggests the piece is not American.

The closure is a smooth bar that snaps firmly and is reinforced with an attached safety chain. The metal does not test as 10K gold so either it is gold-filled, heavily plated finish, or a lower carat gold. The condition is excellent. The stones will compliment just about any shade of earth tones while their size and richness fetch many admiring glances.
 

Aventurine Pendant with Koi Fish & Fortune Symbol Set with Opals, Gems This vintage Asian aventurine gemstone pendant has two sides for twice the beauty and luck! One side of the 2 5/8" has a polished aventurine stone plaque has a gold-plated good fortune symbol for a simpler look of Eastern mystery. The other side is set with engraved golden sea flora among which swim two koi fish with opal bodies. The koi have facetted amethyst eyes and blue-green smaller accent stones are set in the sea flowers. (I’ve taken images at a few different angles to capture the fire in the opals and the colors of the stones.) Aventurine is often confused with jade; it is translucent and has speckled shades of green scattered throughout.

The 24" gold-filled, spiral link chain closes with a spring-ring clasp; its profile mimics the twisted border of the pendant very nicely. It’s in great condition and could well bestow both beauty and bounty upon the wearer!  

Delightful Carved Jade Buddha Drop Earrings with Pearls & Coral Large vintage carved Buddhas of jadeite/nephrite give these drop earrings a distinctive Asian flair. The Buddhas (or they may be Hotei, as each is smiling!) are 1 1/8" high; the total height of each earring is 2 ¼". Above the jade figures are freshwater rice pearls and natural branch coral on gold-filled wires. The lever back pierced earrings are 14K gold-filled too.
