This vintage Asian aventurine gemstone pendant has two sides for twice the beauty and luck! One side of the 2 5/8" has a polished aventurine stone plaque has a gold-plated good fortune symbol for a simpler look of Eastern mystery. The other side is set with engraved golden sea flora among which swim two koi fish with opal bodies. The koi have facetted amethyst eyes and blue-green smaller accent stones are set in the sea flowers. (I’ve taken images at a few different angles to capture the fire in the opals and the colors of the stones.) Aventurine is often confused with jade; it is translucent and has speckled shades of green scattered throughout.
The 24" gold-filled, spiral link chain closes with a spring-ring clasp; its profile mimics the twisted border of the pendant very nicely. It’s in great condition and could well bestow both beauty and bounty upon the wearer! |
