I adore garnets! Here, their saturated color is facetted as rose cuts set in elegant drop earrings. These circa 1900 12K gold-filled earrings are bead-set with rose-cut Almandine garnets encircling a pear-shaped center stone. Each earrings is 1" long (and the front is all garnet, the fittings are completely concealed behind!) and almost ˝" wide. The color is the most desirable dark red with a hint of purple—just luscious! Not so dark that you can’t tell you are looking at garnets and clearly with a purple hue to the pear stones. (Image of the back-lit earring is dark but shows the underlying tone.) The adjustable screw fittings are comfy and understated so from the front you appear to be wearing pierced earrings.
These beauties are not marked but have been tested as 12K gold-filled (though due to the thick plating, they appear solid gold in some test situations). The earrings are in wonderful condition and are so flattering in shape and color on any woman.
