This circa 1900 cast sterling silver pin is set with three half-domes of sodalite or similar hard gemstone in a airy, scroll-work motif that reflects a transition from the more naturalistic Art Nouveau to the increasingly elaborate Edwardian influences in design.

| The pin is 2 5/8" wide and 1 ¼" high. Bead-edge curves and applied bosses (balls) enhance the lacy effect of the filigree. The pin shaft (which may not be sterling) secures with a C clasp. There are no markings and the pin tests as at least .925 sterling in silver purity though it could be higher. It is in wonderful condition and has a pleasing patina which highlights the fine detail |
