This circa 1910 European brass bar pin is not for the shy – it measures 3 ¾" across. The ornately stamped and scrolled bar has acanthus leaf scrolls hugging the central jewel which is a faux-veined pink glass cabochon. The smaller half-sphere gems on each side are mottled to resemble the same enigmatic stone; one is lighter than the other, just as they might be found in nature. The pin shaft secures with a trombone clasp (a European favorite, invented about 1850.) The pin is in excellent condition with the preferred patina that compliments the age and design |
