This ultra colorful vintage silver filigree butterfly is basse taille enameled in vibrant hues on the wings, body, and antenna tips. The butterfly is 2" wide and 1 3/8" high. Her lacy wings are formed of twisted wire. The enamel, which covers the body entirely, is translucent and vivid.
The back is stamped "Silver" which typically indicates .800 purity. (I have left it unpolished as the patina enhances the color.) The pin closes with a safety clasp and is in wonderful condition. Isn’t she a cheery butterfly!
