The fantasy creation's petals spiral around and lead to a cone that sprouts from a looped stem. It’s pure poetry in oxidized silver set off perfectly by the deep gray tones of the bead-set marcasites.
The flower has a safety clasp pin and is stamped with the diamond "JJ" hallmark of Judith Jack--a maker known for fine quality and very distinctive designs. The pin is also marked "Sterling." Very brilliant by daylight and more captivating by low evening light—marcasites were used as convincing diamond substitutes in the days of gaslight and candlelight! This vintage bejeweled bloom is in excellent condition.
