What a rare find! These 1920’s Art Deco chandelier or shoulder-duster earrings come to you on their original display card which advertised them as "Latest Patterns." Any chic flapper of the era would no doubt have been happy to shimmy on the dance floor in these swinging chain and beaded creations that sported profiles of the Sphinx. The discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922 started the rage for all things exotically Egyptian and these certainly met the demand.
They measure over 4 ¼" long and just under 1/2" wide across the five chains that terminate with ball ends.

The chains, Sphinx, stamped floral ornaments above, and screw ear findings are all brass. One flower has a slightly crimped hole but these were machine-stamped, not made by the King’s slaves so royal standards of Pyramid Quality Control were not in effect. There is a mottled jade green oblong glass bead above each Sphinx to add color and more flair to the design.
The chains have a dark patina and they swing freely. The screw findings work well and the earrings themselves are in wonderful, unworn condition—lucky you! True period Art Deco earrings nearly 100 years old but never worn! The card is a bit fragile but so valuable to have with these period beauties! This is a specially priced estate consignment item and does not qualify for further store discount, however, most store items do. New pieces arrive each day so please take time for a browse!
