The vintage laminated cellulose acetate model shown here is made of luminous gray pearl with opaque black running boards and fenders and bombe’ wheels in tones of gray, black and white. The limo is 2 3 /4" long and 7/8" high. The windows are open and the door and "speed lines" are impressed into the molded body.
The safety clasp pin is permanently affixed and is embossed "Lea Stein, Paris." The original paper "Made in France" label is attached too. This vintage vehicle is old stock in excellent, unworn condition.
Ms. Stein’s style has become instantly recognizable since the late 1960’s when she first heat-laminated cellulose acetate in layers of color to create simple yet graphically strong jewelry with a strong Art Deco flavor. These old-stock designs are no longer produced so their availability shrinks each year thus a special find like this is always to be appreciated.
