This sterling and semiprecious gemstone pendant with the face of goddess crowned wears an elaborate headdress and is entirely hand-crafted, most likely in Indonesia. Showing the popular Sajen style of ornamentation (a popular line whose pieces are also made in Indonesia), the pendant measures2 1/8" high not including the bail which adds 3/8".
The bone face has a peaceful expression with open eyes—very realistically carved and extremely smoothly polished. The headdress is made of hundreds of tiny silver ballotini and is tipped with a scrolled circle that balances the design nicely. The gems are all bezel-set and facetted with fine saturation of color and include a large round blue topaz, a round amethyst, and an oval peridot.
The back is marked .925 for sterling purity.

There are openings behind the stones to allow light in so the reflections and color are enhanced. There are no maker’s hallmarks so we don’t know which fine artisan made it. I have included a 18" long fluid sterling silver snake chain with hook-spring clasp stamped "ITALY" and ".925" since this style of pendants come without—thus, you can wear the goddess right away. The bail has an inner opening of 8mm so you can easily try a cord or strand of beads as well for extra color. The condition is lovely and the look is ethereal!
