Exquisitely stamped fruits, leaves, flowers, and scrolls abound in these antiqued gold- and silver-plated Rococo style pierced earrings set with large citrine glass cabochons. Each earring is an impressive 2 ½" long by 1 5/16" wide and domes slightly to curve back toward the neck.
The detail of the openwork is very sharp and invites closer inspection. The lower appliqués are done in silver and have fruits rising up on each side. The "crown" shapes at the very top are also silver in finish. The golden central area around the stone is full of sensuous curves and piercings for a lush and light effect. Each stone is ¾" long and has a brilliant mirrored back (one appears slightly darker only under intense light but, of course, when worn, the earrings will be on opposite sides of your face).
Were it not for the unusual size and superb condition, you’d swear these were rare pieces of Renaissance or Rococo period jewelry. The earrings have long, firmly soldered pierced ear wires and are in great condition.
