This is one of those truly superb vintage pieces where the stones just jump out at you thanks to superb quality lead crystal and sharp faceting—no foil needed here! This circa 1930 dress clip of patinated brass measures 2" by 2" and has a slightly domed face, pierced around the edges with fleurs de lys and centered by a flower-form design interspersed with tiny blossoms.
Each of the golden citrine cut crystal oval stones is 10mm long and very saturated in color. They truly do reflect light magnificently! The quality strongly suggests the crystal was from Czechoslovakia or Austria. The clip back is firm and very clean and the stones in very fine shape with no cracks or chips, just a tiny bit of facet edge wear. I’d say this piece was worn infrequently, if at all. And I would definitely say it deserves to be taken out often and I’d recommend showing it off as a pendant as demonstrated here (if you don’t have a suitable chain, I do, just ask!)
