This vintage pin / pendant of cabochon polished is impressive in its size and the link setting that precisely matches that of the removable chain. The pendant is 1 7/8" high and 1 3/8" wide. The teal/green marbled gemstone shows features of both heliotrope—or bloodstone--a variety of quartz known for scattered dark orange/red specks as well as jasper thanks to the bluish cast and the misty white bands. The cab is rich with variegated bands of white, darker teal, and small red specks. No matter the name, the mix of earthy hues give the gem real depth and the brilliant setting adds a glamorous spin.
The back of the brooch has a safety clasp pin and open-ended hook bail. Included is a rhodium-plated chain of long, lanky curb links, 24 ˝" in length, with a center ring that slips under the pendant bail and spring-ring clasp. Both pieces are in excellent condition and give you quite a few accessorizing options: brooch alone, brooch on chain hanging freely, brooch pinned high with chain draping on sides, another pendant on the chain…have fun!
